Phoenix

Knight of Zero :)

Jason Jeffory

When they refer to Nunally being found. He’s referring to the gap between season 1 & 2. When she returned to Britannia after Lelouch was captured.

Rexxon

Pretty sure that when Odysseus says Nunnaly was "found" he was referring to her return from exile and becoming the new viceroy of Japan.

Jules Eris

Guys just so you know, when he said that Nunnaly had been found he was talking about when she was 'found' after being send to Japan not being found after being in the blast from the Fleya warhead. He was talking about Nunnaly returning to become viceroy at the start of season 2 not her returning after the big boom.

Hercule Pyro

Gotta clarify it for you, Odeseus was talking about them finding Nunally at the start of the season, when Nunally became the vice-roy of japan. Up until then she and lelouch both had been assumed dead.

Delorian

All Hail Lelouch!

Anonymous

finding nunnally refers to when she showed up to the public in the beginning of the season

Hercule Pyro

Also you guys wondering how C.C can survive everything, remember when Mao wanted to cut her into pieces with a chainsaw to go to australia? She would've survived

Lauri Mäentaus

before Nunnally died the royal family knew she was alive. So no, she hasn't been found after the explosion. (will delete this if u guys think this is a spoiler)

John FD Lobrano

I SWORE the whole plan with Charles and Marianne was less confusing when I was a college freshman. 8I

Anonymous

Would like to see them react to Code Geass: Akito the Exiled and to the new movie.

BeesKnees

ALL HAIL EMPEROR LELOUCH! Get ready for some more craziness guys! So close to the end.

Scott Townend

Charles and Mariane plan was (i think) to essentially create a world with no individuality where everyone dosnt need to lie or fight because they are all one "mind" and it will also break the walls that seperate the living consciounses from the dead that have returned to the collective ?

Mr. Big Stuff

This episode was so f@#ing crazy. It takes multiple viewings to figure out what's going on and even then... you don't know everything that's going on in this episode

Kaleo Mungin

The Emperor wanted to join humanity's consciousness. So everyone would know what everyone is thinking, we would be one being mentally. So we can't lie to each other. That's why you can join the dead, since they're also part of this collective unconscious. Don't know how killing the collective unconscious itself (God) would do that, though.

Kaleo Mungin

pretty confusing, and I still can't define what exactly C's World, Sword of Akasha, Thought Palace, and Thought Elevator are

Anonymous

So begins one of, if not THE, greatest endings in anime history. Strap in guys, the last 4 episodes are insane.

zezibesh

This is always a confusing episode but the guys got it way better than I expected, certainly better than I did on first viewing.

zezibesh

Isn't the new movie in a separate continuity, with some dead characters being alive etc? I haven't watched any of the films since I didn't know there'd be a "sequel", but the fact that the movies form their own timeline kinda turns me off of it.

When prince Odysseus says "When Nunnally was found .... " he was referring to finding her in between season 1 and two. They thought she was dead before VV found her and she became viceroy.

Anonymous

Dude, its the Evangelion idea. Human Instrumentality. Blend us all together into one consciousness. No lies. See everyone. Etc.... We're all connected.

Anonymous

And if you want to get into philosophy, the mask talk was on the idea of persona. That we distinguish ourselves from the collective by creating a persona (doing so to protect ourselves). Personas not being 100% true to the ourselves. Charles wants to strip it all away.

Anonymous

By destroying God--ie the unconscious--everything that made humans different and therefore unequal from one another will vanish. Ideals, conflicts, and even the line that separates those who are alive from the dead. If you rewatch it, there's a part where the Emperor tells Lelouch that imposing Geass on God is impossible, but Lelouch points out that not all men are equal and it should work (God as the amalgam of human wills should have weak-willed individuals that can be influenced).

Mordirit

Okay I think EVERYONE has an interpretation of C's World, so this will just be mine... In the world of Code Geass there is such a thing as a god, it is a collective conscience created by all emotions of all humans, past present and future. It is sort of a platonic "world of ideas" state of being, in which every human being creates for themselves an imperfect image of that ideal, none being the real thing, all being less than it; Charles' point was that God proved humanity COULD live as one being, but humans create lies to exist as individuals.

Anonymous

Actually, I think the comment "when we found nunnaly" was meant for the start of season 2 (she was supposed to be missing in season 1 for britanian people, and in season 2 after the memory rewrite she was given the area 11 to rule)

Miasimon

All hail Britainnia! All hail Britainnia! All hail Bri-*static*-louch! All hail Lelouch! All hail Lelouch! Seriously though, the part where Lelouch claims the throne will ALWAYS get me hyped for the last few episodes... we're in the endgame, boys!

Dasher

I'm so triggered that they all immediately agreed that they're referring to Nunally being found now, and not when she became the viceroy >_<

HIM

Okay guys, bare with me. To Eric, If you can read the early parts of Marvel's 2015 secret wars and understand how the beyonders work, then Charles' plan becomes more relatable. By destroying God, thus destroying everything as we know it to be, Charles could then create a new reality for the collective consciousness to exist in again. If you believe in reincarnation and the idea that the consciousness that is "You" must live through multiple lives in order to mature to something greater, than this isn't THAT perplexing. BUT yeah, the secret wars thing is explained better and is basically what the plan was here. Also, I watched this when I was 16 and was confused AF, too. Naruto has a similar plot point that helped me finally understand this mumbo jumbo lol. Just wanted to help! Love you guys

Swordhunter

Lelouch likely needed that month to recover. To suddenly be reconnected with the mother you've been struggling years to avenge, only to learn she's as bad as the emperor and be forced to kill her yourself. He must have been a wreck afterwards.

akuma06

That's why Lelouch said that he wanted a future (he didn't to stop the flow of time). Since every consciousness would be connected together and no lies could be ever made, everything that happened to everyone would be learned by everyone (every lie being unraveled) and no further changes to the world could be made (since no incentive to do things out of selfishness could be done). Furthermore, you could say that no invention, no incentive to work or do research could be made in this kind of world (since you now live in a perfect information world).

akuma06

"Do you think next time it would be highschool stuff again?" When you're so close to the truth :')

Anonymous

My take on Charles and Mariannes plan was that they more or less wanted to create the world from "the invention of lying". they wanted to remove peoples ability to lie or deceive each other, or even to think of the idea of lying or deceiving each other.

Anonymous

Also, like, I´ve seen all of Code Geass, and feel I´ve got a pretty good understanding of what everyone´s plans are and what´s going on, but hearing you guys trying to piece together the events of this show makes me more confused than I ever was watching the show.

HIM

I'm triggered my post was deleted. Oh well, Next week!

Animes like to have open-ended concepts, so that any answer is the right answer. geass is a McGuffin tied to some ancient civilization. codes can grant geass, are immune to geass, and grant immortality.

Anonymous

When they mentioned "finding" Nunnally they were referring to when she was found between seasons and then made Viceroy of Area 11. NOT finding her after the Fleija went off in Tokyo. It's an easy mistake to make.

Donn

Think of the collective unconscious as a powerful supercomputer, running multiple virtual machines each running a single program which would be a single individual consciousness. I think what the emperor wanted to do, is to remove these barriers, destroying the hypervisor, so that all the individual programs would be running on the same machine where they can see each other's internals, implementation, source code, instead of just their public APIs.
