Do you think having a memorial at the school for Khalil is appropriate or inappropriate?

I think it was inappropriate it doesn’t matter what his own personal issues were he still attacked the school he still made that decision to work with Tobias and the 100 you don’t get a free pass from wrongdoing because you used to be paralyzed

I lean to the inappropriate side. I agree with the comments that while he was their friend, he WAS a gang-banger that attacked the school. Forgiveness yes, blindness no.

He attacked the school. The people that were traumatized and hurt by it will have a constant reminder praising their attacker. Innapropriate.

We as the audience know Khalil was a good person in a bad position but from the students P.O.V. he was a member of the 100 who attacked the school.

There is no fully right or wrong answer because everyone experience with him was different. Ultimately, I’m fine with it because the memorial was for Khalil not Painkiller.

But to the students Khalol and painkiller are one and the same. Although they seem weirdly okay with it though 😅

To some, not all. It’s certainly a complicated situation.

If the students he attacked thought enough about the person he was, the person they grew up with, to memorialize him then they should be able to. I’m sure they know plenty of friends and family who’ve gone down the wrong path, that doesn’t mean they no longer care for them.

None of them should have a connection to him other than him last being seen attacking the school shooting people Jennifer should be the only one that should understand and have connection with him cus what they went thru but all other kids should not have just been on her side for no reason

I have a philosophy in life. If it doesn't hurt anyone its not an issue. It was never going to be up forever and there is nothing wrong with trying to remember someone so soon after their passing. It was just sitting there doing nothing and no one was being affected in any way.

Being Unsuccessful at murdering people doesn't relieve you from the fact you tried to murder people, people are influenced all the time to kill people as you can see in today's news. Resisting those influence no matter how weak or strong is what pushes society forward.

It's definitely a very touchy situation. But I think if that's how the students chose to remember him it was appropriate. In that community they see friends and peers suffer traumas and die at an exceptionally high rate. They need to be able to process that grief somehow and if that's how they wanted to do it I think it was okay. The principal on the other hand needs to show some empathy and realize the handbook isn't always appropriate in every situation.

It's tricky. Students should be allowed to mourn him. It's a shame because for Jen this is very personal and while I do think she's right at the fact that he was failed by a system that in theory is meant to protect him but isn't for him is true, she made it something else because once he essentially shot up a school and tried to murder people he became someone who isn't allowed to be a victim anymore. He actively tried to hurt people because he was given power(just after power was taken from him which does make him desperate but still). I don't think the school was wrong for taking it down and because Jen was grieving she created a situation where she was being attacked which the act of taking the memorial down was not. The principle then responding without any empathy and a complete lack of any understanding because he has been called out for not caring about the students is though.
