Reminder that you're not actually seeing the angels move. In any given frame, they're perfectly still--they're moving *between* frames, when you can't see them. :)

Anonymous

Been waiting in anticipation for this reaction as it finally answers and touches upon some of the questions you've been asking.

Anonymous

yeah I didnt like the fact they showed the angels moving. I always imagined they didnt still look like statues when mobile.

Michael Harrop

Talked all through a very important scene 🙈

Martin Wiggan

I think Aaron didn't explain to them correctly that the showrunner for this era also wrote Blink.

Anonymous

Oh christ i just realised what the next episode is. The one after that shitshow is a good one though :)

Anonymous

You’re gonna grow to love him just like me, i know it!

Anonymous

i need Matt Smith to react to this

WhoviVortex

Vampires of Venice is IMO a really fun story, with some pretty great moments. Wasn't aware it was considered by some to be that bad!

Rhianna BRROWN

Can u watch the additional scene between 5-6

Anonymous

If they can do Doctor who then they can do Hunter X Hunter

Nick Earl

People bitching about the angels moving are even worse than the dense eejits who get confused about the 'you have to remember speech'. It is not a hard science fiction show, Doctor Who is at its best when it triumphs emotions over cold logic. That's why I love this episode.

Hah! Wardrobe malfunction! After the Doctor loses his jacket he's still wearing it when speaking to Amy . . . hourm?

Martin Wiggan

I always thought that too! When I originally watched blink and these episode, I never thought that the weeping angels were meta so that the angels never moved for the audience as well. I also never noticed the angel that grabbed the doctor moving. I think that the angels moved the way it did in that scene because they weren't being observed but they weren't completely sure but then again that means the quantum lock is instinct and not a law of physics that is set in stone.

Shane on Eleven: The End of Time - 'I hate this guy' The Eleventh Hour - 'Who is this fool?' Flesh and Stone - 'I like this guy'

Hugh Burke

And many of the angels are statues (not stone, of course)

I'm looking forward to the next episode. It's one of my favorite stories from Series 5 and a nice shift in dynamics between doctor and companions. Lessons 11 remembered during his time as 10 and some funny references to the Classic Who era.

Fizzy

This is why Moffat’s run as showrunner is so polarizing. The angels moving diminishes this two parter imo. It was perfect except for that tidbit. I hate that he did that because it was unnecessary. I love how they didn’t even discuss Amy seducing the doctor at the end. Also there’s a HUGE spoiler in this episode that they basically talked through. Lol I love how blind wave stays quiet for some scenes and then manages to talk through the important ones.

I love that Eric pointed out how Matt Smith has no eyebrows before it became a running joke

Anonymous

After you've seen the final episode of this season that will make sense...

Rhianna BRROWN

Can u watch the additional scene between this episode and the beginning of the next episode please

Anonymous

As for Matt Smith's head, it has been suggested in a throwaway line that the Easter Island heads are in fact tributes to his Doctor.

Rhianna BRROWN

If they like the continuing companions and full in love with them there gonna hate the angels

Rhianna BRROWN

They think it’s the last time I feel sad 😢

Anonymous

Damn Eric.

Anonymous

this current showrunner (steven moffat) also created the angels and wrote 'Blink'

Anonymous

Nah thats not how the cracks work they treat cause and effect differently things still happened .

Rhianna BRROWN

I hate when they he said “matt Smith your not my faiv doctor who but I think your face is ok” because he’s great but I think there gonna love him by the end of this season or the start of season 6

Gezno

I'm pretty sure Bishop got his neck snapped.

Anonymous

Who do you think would win in a fight, a Weeping Angel or Toph Beifong?

Anonymous

but that was Aaron who said that who has seen everything but half of season 10 so I don't think that's gonna change

The Doctor

The only reason I'm against the angels moving is that like some others, I like the idea that when you're not looking at them, they are not in the form of an angel. The idea of the unknown mystery monster is pretty cool. But It's not strong enough for me to dislike the episode or even that scene. I think the way they handled it was decent and it added to the tension, even if it doesn't quite add up logic wise.

ChiefChill

I always thought that we didn’t really see them move. The lights wore flickering so they were moving slow and so they move a stop motion kind of way. Where they were able to love for split seconds and stop every split second. That’s what I thought

Jeanette C

To be fair the Doctor does explain to Amy during that scene in the woods that the Angels are fleeing the time crack and aren't really paying that much attention to her. That's the only reason she's able to get away with "walking like she can see". If they were actually paying attention then they would've gotten her in an instant. I agree with Eric though, I think the fact that we actually see the Angels move does take something away from them. Once of my favourite parts of Blink is just how creepy it becomes after you realise it's not when the characters are watching, but also when you're watching that they don't move. Overall still a fun two parter though - can't wait for the rest of the season!

Talmet

They didn't talk through a spoiler. It was in the show, so it isn't a spoiler. It's information that they SHOULD have, but don't. i.e. if I walk out of the room at the end of 3x9 of GoT, I don't "miss a spoiler."

Talmet

On the other hand, they could end up loving the Angels. I was almost cheering the Angels on after the middle of season 7.

Doby Greg

The doctor and River make the two-parter for me. They have the perfect relationship in this one where they are constantly switching who dominates who. And also you see the doctor grow from being wary around her to having fun with her. I dind't like the changes to the angels since I think them being rock angel due to quantum lock made them fascinating and that any statue could be one made them creepy. And I don't think the scene that broke that was interesting enough. I'm surprise Shane didn't mention back Amy trying to bone The Doctor. The bishop was cooll indeed.

Doby Greg

People can like the episode and not like an aspect of it. And not everyone have to appreciate a show the same way.

Azmat Mahmood

I like this episode, even if it does have its fair share of problems.

Anonymous

Next week is great fun. I am so excited for them to get to know Rory properly.

Tomi A

Not the part where they're talking about his face though

Yunru

It's one of the fastest and deadliest creatures in the universe... if they can choose to move why the heck don't they? Also it completely undoes the entire reason the weep.

Anonymous

in the episode its stated that they are scared when amy is walking through them, they think she is looking at them so they voluntary go to stone, but they start to realise she cant see them when they start to move

Holiday1021

I'm surprised no one mentioned the weird thing that happened in this episode.

Alan Carroll

I could be wrong but, I think Moffat said somewhere that he regretted showing the angels move in this episode?
