I love this series.....so so much. But you guys should definitely watch Trigun! It's great, too. I still cry like a baby at the end. Every time Ed talks about having a heart that is full metal....teeeeeaaarrrrsssss.

the bloopers im fine with but there's no reason to watch OVA 1 if its gonna drag it on an extra week unless they do both at once since they're 23 minutes combined. OVA 1 doesnt really add anything to the show though now that they've finished it.

I dont know if this is an appropriate spot for a recommendation but have you guys thought about doing any of the gundam series? Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 is a 22 episodes long reedit of the 7 part OVA. The youtube channel gundaminfo has it as well as other gundam series, and i think its an official channel as well.

I think it's already been mentioned by some people, but there is a 10 minute blooper reel for the English dub, I think you guys would really enjoy it.

The creator confirmed that Mustang did become Fuhrer, and did stand trial for his actions in Ishval. He was declared guilty, then earned clemency for his role in saving the country.

I re-watched this episode yesterday in preparation for this reaction and I realized that Ed's speech at the end sounds very similar to the philosophy being explored in Westworld. That through enduring suffering you become more yourself and more human. It is pretty interesting to see that same point being made in two shows I love. Also, I think the guys ought to re-watch the first episode. Now that they know of Father's plan the first episode takes on a whole new meaning besides being a pretty dull intro into the Elric brothers.

Especially since they are nearing the end game of Death Note. That would be a good replacement to FullMetal considering the philosophy explored in Code Geass.

What an incredible journey this was! I'm glad Eric and the crew were so invested in the show. The world the show built, the alchemy concept, equivalent exchange, father/hohenheim so much brilliant story telling aspects like it's incredible. FMAB Sundays were the best!! Thanks guys ;)

It was an amazing ride with you guys. I figured they would love it consdering it had elements they loved in other shows, conspiracies, great battles, memorable characters, and scheming from both good guys and bad guys. I would recommend you watch the first series on your own. There is an intense rivalry between fans of the first series and Brotherhood that gets out of hand, but both were great in their own way. Fullmetal is a gem. I get people who feel it’s overrated or that it is a typical Shonen, but it does a lot right that some other anime or manga I feel struggle with. No hard core power scale really allowed everyone to shine instead of just the two main characters. Every character contributed and had their own distinct personalities, which is hard to find in some other fighting anime. Even the ending is happy it felt earned and not a cop out. Ed giving up his alchemy for Al was a significant sacrifice and him keeping the metal leg as a reminder was a nice touch. Great reactions from all of you.

Fun fact: In the original manga, the scene with Mustang and Marcoh actually takes place at the scene of the final battle in a medical tent rather than at a hospital, and they don't mention Havoc at all. In the pictures at the end, Havoc is shown going through physical therapy in the manga as opposed to being perfectly fine in the anime, likely meaning he regained some use of his legs through a procedure (possibly medical alchemy) rather than with the Philosopher's Stone.
