Which side are you on?

Kara, because Kara's sister is Alex, and Alex had sex with Sara, and Sara turned into Beebo.

As someone who isn't at all caught up with Supergirl, I still love your comment because I have absolutely no idea if these are real characters and events in the show, memes/references I don't understand, or simply an almost accurate re-telling of my life experiences in high school. :).....:/

Lena has never done anything but help the DEO and Supergirl in the past, but all of a sudden she’s untrustworthy because she has Kryptonite. Even though there have been multiple instances of evil Kryptonians attacking Earth. Lena all the way

SpeedyCat19

Kara is completely justified to be upset at Lena making the only thing that can harm her.As far as I know, Kryptonite serves no other purpose besides harming Kryptonians, so Lena's argument of banning fire or vehicles doesn't make much sense, because harming humans isn't the main purpose of those things.

There should have been a neither option.

Jak O'Hara

I side with Lena completely her well rounded thinking made a lot of sense this episode knowing how Supergirl would react when she told her about Kryptonite and made me think a lot when she said that Supergirl has a god complex

I agree with lena. Kara does have of a little bit of a ego and doesn't like to be wrong

Dylan Carpenter

Lena. I understand why Kara feels the way she does, but Lena has always been trustworthy and loyal. Owning Kryptonite makes sense, after all 2/3 of the seasons have had a Kryptonian as their big bad.

Doby Greg

I understand Kara's position since kryptonite is torture to her and her people but I side with Lena because Kryptonite is good for safety(even John had some and Reign escape because they didn't have enough) and might have other unknown properties. She kept the formula to herself and only used it to help her friends or her planet.

Doby Greg

Bad Kryptonians have come to earth on several occasions. And it help her keep Reign in check while helping her friend Sam.

Ryan Witalison

I'm kind of on the, they are both wrong camp, yes Kara has a point about Kryptonite but so does Lena and in the end, Kryptonite ended up helping stop Reign for now. But at the same time Kara violated Lena's trust by having Jimmy break into her lab and Lena violated Kara's trust by making the only thing that can kill her without her knowladge so in the end blame all around and I'm on no one's side

Doby Greg

Having saftety precaution is not a bad thing. Kryptonite is a safety precaution if bad kryptonians show up or the kryptonians there are not on our side(remember superman getting Brainwashed).

Kara's reaction could be a bit of a learned response. Clark reacts to Kryptonite the same way at the beginning of Season 2. He basically tells J'onn that he can't trust him or the DEO if he doesn't get rid of all the Kryptonite the DEO has. Although, oddly enough, I don't think Kara had quite this strong of a reaction to the DEO having Kryptonite as she did to Lena having it.

They're both right, but at the end of the day, Lena's arguments felt stronger

Darth Skhorrn

I hate Kryptonians for this very reason. Both Superman and Supergirl think that owning Kryptonite makes you their enemy, even though it's the only thing that can keep them in check. With their vulnerability to magic and mind control, they are too powerful to lack a failsafe, as Batman would say. The stronger someone's power is, the more checks and balances they should have. And Kryptonian ego will not allow for their power to be checked by any lesser being, because at the end of the day, they really do have the worst god complexes. God, I hate them.

Bigfoot

I'm on Lena's side here. They had built a friendship together ,and they gained each other trust. But as soon as kryptonite was in the picture she wasn't Lena anymore she was a Luthor. She couldn't be trusted and was a threat of the highest caliber. And while kryptonite can be deadly to Kara, why does she automatically assume that Lena would try to hurt her. Someone who she claims is a friend. But then try and use someone close to her to snoop through her belongings and betray her trust. Then for Lena to come forward ,and tell her something that she knows could possibly forever mark her as a female Lex in Kara's eyes, in order to help and you wont understand. then to confine the whereabouts of all kryptonite to you ,and your cousin who ha both been exposed to substances that have made them turn against everyone is arrogant. Lena just want's to help her friends and be better than Lex in peoples eyes, Kara could've handled this better imo. Also totally called that Mon-El shit damn near exactly.

100% on Lena’s side, just cause she can make kryptonite doesn’t mean she will use it on supergirl.

Did Kara just forget about season 1? Where her enemies were literally evil Kryptonians? And then season 2 where she used the one thing that could affect an entire race to defeat them? She’s completely hypocritical and totally has a god complex just like Lena said. Her argument is self centered and so anti-heroic it’s ridiculous. But Kara’s struggled with that consistently for a while, particularly in this season. Self vs others.

StevenBrown

I'm always on the side of the Hero.

With all Lena did the last 2 years, Kara needs to give her more credit and more trust in advance. Kryptonite is Kryptonite for her i know but c‘mon you are overreacting

Henry Wallace

After brain washed Superman, Red K Supergirl, Nazi version supergirl, fort rozz kryptonians. Yeah, methinks humanity at a whole would like something to protect them should Kara goes rogue or nuts. Kara doesnt get to decide how humans defend themselves

Anonymous

Most people are talking specifically about the Kryptonite specifically, but I think the even bigger point in Lena's favor is how Kara tried to make James spy on Lena. There's absolutely no excuse for that and that alone puts Lena in the right

Rubi Moon

While Lena brings up a good point about how there are a lot of things that can kill us, but we don’t really have a common weapon that affects us like kryptonite affects Kara. The closest thing to Kryptonite for us would probably be a radiation bomb, but it’s still not the same thing. Kara has also had issues with kryptonites before. One version (red) that was made by Maxwell Lord turned her evil, the green Kryptonite obviously she’s incountered several times and when you feel something that can kill you like that, when you’re shot, when your skin burns, when your lips freeze, you really don’t want to EVER feel something like that ever again. So yes, I believe Kara has the right to protest and complain about Lena whose family isn’t the most trustworthy, making kryptonite. Especially after now she’s learned that James has lied about the stash in Lena’s vault. So now Kara doesn’t even know how much Kryptonite there really is. Maybe if Lena confessed the FIRST time she had a chance, then she would be more in the right and more justified, but she did lie RIGHT to Kara’s face about the kryptonite which means she’s broken Kara’s trust AGAIN.

Rubi Moon

I’m not saying Lena is completely in the wrong though, she definitely has reasons to keep her secrets and reasons that justify the making of Kryptonite because it IS what stops Reign. But I’m kind of doubting that she started the whole project JUST to stop Reign. Also what happened to the whole thing about Kryptonite not be effective against Reign? Did we just forget about that? Because the DEO tried using Kryptonite before but it didn’t affect Reign. But apparently now it affects her just as much as Supergirl???? Does NO ONE remember this????

Anonymous

I agree with Kara because lena should have had the trust to make it with Kara's permission plus if it hurt the way Kara described I do not blame her. Aaron it is like having a bunch of needle moving around in your skin.

Lena said in this episode she altered the Kryptonite to affect Reign

Samantha Den Hertog

Ultimately I'm not on either of their sides even though I can understand both their arguments. I agree with Lena that just because kryptonite can be lethal to Supergirl, it doesn't mean that humanity shouldn't have any means of protecting themselves should another situation with a rogue Kryptonian happen again. I also agree with Supergirl that harmful substances such as kryptonite should be under the supervision of governmental institutions and not a single individual, just like our governments monitor nuclear power. However Lena was wrong to believe that she was the only one capable of curing Sam and that it had to be her to do it, when at that point she had a good relationship with Supergirl and had every reason to believe that she would be able to reason with her to protect Sam instead of Supergirl just locking her up like she claimed she would. Also when she discovered the formula to creating kryptonite, she should've waited until she had Supergirl's permission to create it instead of going ahead anyway and lying to her about its origin given the personal nature. Supergirl was also in the wrong when she asked James to investigate Lena's vault knowing that James is in a relationship with her, subsequently putting her supposed friend in the position where he had to either betray her or Lena. Given that Supergirl always promotes fairness, she should've been aware of how hypocritical and cruel that request was. I think they both should have been better at communicating with and trusting one another. Also, if Kara had just informed Lena of her other identity a while ago then a lot of this trust nonsense could have been avoided in my opinion.

I haven’t even seen the episode and I picked Lena. Does that make me unfairly biased?

Harry Utton

Kara is being completely unreasonable. Yes, this substance can cause you to feel excruciating pain, but as Lena said, it's ONE thing and it's in the hands of a good person! (I.e. your best friend!)
