Omar

Dorne only has Princes and Princesses so even Oberyn's older brother is The Prince of Dorne. Also, not sure if the Doom of Valerya submerged certain parts of the lower peninsula in water which turned it into an archipelago but maybe it was always like that.

With all that talk about Alexander's conquering, I think Lisa and Rick would love watching (or even making reaction videos of) Fate/Zero.

Jon Aryn also had stones on his eyes during the funeral in S1E1, but he wasn't a royalty, so it is sort of religious practice. But I guess neither Daenerys, nor anyone else there are particularly religious.

Doran is prince, it's a principality, Calvin

The leaders of the great families in Meereen were all slave owners, and as such would all be put to death by the laws of the Seven Kingdoms. Just like Hizdahr's father who Dany crucified, and then the show tried to say she shouldn't have killed him, even though he was in charge of rebuilding the great pyramid (which means he killed over 1,000 slaves)...

Although i agree. And as a huge dany fan i will typically defend her. This I can't defend. She didn't give this man a trial or even a proper sentencing. She just interrogated him and then killed him. Although i love her, this move was a dumb one and an unnecessary one. The move she makes later on in the episode is a smart move. She can't execute mossodor for ruining the harpy's chances of a fair trial and then rid this man of a trial as well. She just went back on her word.

Detective Rick is on the case!

Yeah, but Meereen is not in the Seven Kingdoms so you can't use the argument that the masters behaved illegally. It's not like they conspired in the dark or something. The show doesn't say that Hizdahr's father should have been spared. His son does. Also where is that 1000 deaths from? Personally I don't like how Daenerys tries to be good and moral and then kills people without a proper trial. If anything that just makes her look like a tyrant. I think she is a bit too impulsive. Crucifying the slave masters without trial probably made her feel better, but it's possible it made the situation and violence worse.

On their way to Mereen, they say that over 1,000 slaves were killed rebuilding the great pyramid. And yes, the slave owners didn’t break the laws of mereen. However, they are slave owners. I was unaware that that is acceptable. For political reasons, Dany let the masters live after she took Mereen...but if she had killed them all upon entering the city, I wouldn’t have had a moral problem with it. I would have had a practical problem, as that wouldn’t have led to a peaceful/prosperous city. But from an ethical standpoint, executing slave owners is not an evil act. Her action in this episode is not good politics, and not giving the master a trial is a moral issue. But considering the fact that he did own slaves, it is not a deep moral issue. Also, as the reason she didn’t execute all masters upon entering was to prevent violence, and said violence occurred anyway (and will continue to occur) I fail to see the political downside of her actions. People in the city who hate her, will continue to hate her. That isn’t a big change.

I'm fairly certain it's mentioned at some point that the Doom of Valyria shattered and split the Valyrian peninsula in two

A 1000 slaves die building the pyramids. Hizdar's father was restoring them. That doesn't mean knocking them down and building them all over again...

I've always had a bit of an issue with dany, but not so much with her as a character as with the way the show presents her as a wonderful ruler. She's actually a typical monarch, establishing laws and processes of law, then doing whatever she wants. Now, if it's ethical to kill slave owners, it would follow that it's unethical to not kill all of them. What she needs here, and in everything else she does, is consistency. Either kill all the slave owners and be done with it, or establish some sort of trial system to sift through and find the ones you determine need to die. Either do what you want all the time, or work through the legal system all the time. This whole ''establish laws and then just pronounce whatever I want'' behavior isn't 'breaking the wheel'. That's reinforcing the wheel. Because every ruler does that.

Talmet

Ethics aren’t binary...just because it’s ethical to do A doesn’t mean it’s unethical to not do A. I.e. it’s ethcial to give to charities, but it isn’t unethical to not give to charities (especially if you are broke, and the choice is starving or not giving to charities).
