Would you like The Walking Dead show to end with a story that solves the Zombie Apocalypse?

I'm cool with happy endings in massage parlors, not the walking dead universe 😊

after all the gang has been through in the walking dead I don't think I would be satisfied if the show ended with, suddenly we've found this cure for zombies, i dont know just my personal opinion.

I don't watch the walking dead but if the characters haven't been able to find a cure after 8 fucking seasons then quite frankly they don't deserve it.

There's not supposed to be a cure, its about how the world continues to go on in this new version.

I stopped watching after the season 7 premier. It got to the point where, for me, it didn’t matter how it ends. I suppose it will always be good on the actors/crew’s resumes, so that’s good.

Well, there is a cure. But the only prescription....

They don't need to end the zombie apocalypse, they just need to carve out a living that doesn't involve ruining every other community they come across. Rick and company are the real bad guys. Maybe the world would be a better place without them.

Every good story knows when to end and with an ending in mind and I think putting the ZOMBIES as the main protagonist can unite the remaining humans and could begin working towards the future that Carl saw for his friends and enemies.

I think it should end with the zombies as a threat be a prevalent threat no matter how much humanity recovers. It makes it feel bitter-sweet and reflects a change in the way the world works.

Let's go somewhere between Shawn of the Dead and Dead Set, humans survive but civilisation as they knew it is gone for a good while.

I would prefer to see a conclusion in which we see the rebuilding of society around this new threat as opposed to just making the problem go away. I think that would feel cheap.

Dylan Carpenter

I kind of gave up watching the show after the first few episodes this season, but if I were still watching I’d say no. I think the apocalypse should have lasting long term consequences, and curing it would likely take those consequences away.

This series is just propaganda made by Rick's group. In reality the Saviors and other "villains" were just helpless victims who desperately tried to defend their way of life. But Rick's butchers won and now try to rewrite the past. Only together we can expose the Truth! Seriously though... aren't you oversimplifying things just a little bit? Next you probably say that there is nothing wrong with Negan stealing things and killing people. But maybe if Negan would have acted like a wise leader, instead of a classical tyrant, stealing all the tricks from history books, all this violence wouldn't have happened? You treat people like shit, and surprise, they rise against you. Who would have thought? And then he hides this under pretense of being "strong". A truly "strong" leader would have prevented this needless violence in the first place. A truly "strong" leader wouldn't need to use violence and coercion to get what they want, and then justify that they only did this for "peace and order", just like every tyrant in history.

Maybe just a glimpse of hope.... I hate sad hopeless endings..... they stay with me longer

I am in the camp that doesn't really want a cure for the zombie virus but doesn't want the whole world to be screwed either. Humanity has proven to adapt to nearly anything. I would like to think at somewhere down the line, people would learn to adapt, control, and civilization would eventually return, only instead of being exactly like it was before the apocalypse, the virus would be considered a "normal" part of human biology and the remaining/future zombies would be another addition to the natural world like any dangerous wild animal. Medicine can evolve to be able to treat an infectious bite, but I would still want the Zombie Virus itself to be permanent. It'd be like the world we live in now, but with an added TV show to Animal Planet.

I feel like the rate the show shows prosper die/turn the planets human population has to be dropping dramatically so I voted no

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "Solves" the Walker Apocalypse. But, If you mean that they finally have a stable community & are not fighting some big bad anymore? Then yes, but VERY far down the line from now because I feel that the comic source material leaves many rich story arcs that have yet to play out in the show. But if you merely mean they find a cure? At this point in time, no. That would feel like they were just trying to wrap it up quick & end it. I like the idea of uncertainty. I feel like if they do this correctly, this show could easily make it as long as Supernatural has. This has been my favorite TV show for a while now, and Unless they drastically change it, nothing is going to change my mind on that. I know there is a ton of hate around the show the last couple years, but people hated the seasons 2-4 when they first aired & some are now claiming that they are their favorites. I think people tend to want to "go back to the roots" or other things like that, and it is like that with most shows. We saw it happen with GoT this last season people were just constantly complaining about it & there is not really a way around it.
