a bit surprised that you didn't recognise Donna's granddad (or just didn't mention it). He was in the last episode, selling papers when The Doctor and Astrid teleported on Earth (he explained that Londoners were afraid of aliens, that's why the streets were empty on Christmas day)!

The show does a fine job filling the audience in without it, I didn't see it til after journeys end and while it's a good story, it's not needed to enjoy the season. (Plus the breaks are a pain)

That intro is so good! Donna is my favorite companion because the friendship between Catherine and David really translates well in their time together as Doctor and Companion. Plus, having the Doctor state that he wants (and needs) a friend is a great relief to me since the romance part of Doctor Who was getting pretty old for me at this time in New Who. Looking forward to seeing how you guys enjoy series four. It has one of my favorite episodes (next to Blink) and introduces one of my favorite characters.

This is a great skit. I am so glad you placed a link to it. I hope the crew is able to see it. The Catherine Tate Show is one of my favorites sketch comedy/variety shows (along with Peep Show and the Chappelle show) and is one I rewatch when I am stuck at home with a cold or just need a good laugh. Thank you for sharing it!

Considering how they get caught up on the plot minutiae in a pretty conventional episode of DW, I am guessing we will have 4 hour reaction videos when they reach the Moffat era. I personally prefer Moffat era DW but he prioritised themes and emotion over story structure, which I liked but many on here don't. Blind Wave will be going over every plot hole in seasons 5-10 for days at a time!

Yeah, I guess. I don't think there are that many more plot holes per capita than the RTD era. I just think Moffat threw a lot more at the wall and it becomes harder to decipher. Part of why I think they'll enjoy the Moffat era more (aside from the fact that the production quality is night and day better) is they'll do the mental math to navigate the story. The more egregious elements of RTD's Who - building to something by saying a word over and over again and then resolving the problem in the last 5 minutes with some deus ex machina solution - makes way for a program that rewards speculation.
