the thing about europe in those days is that there were far more black people in various stages of society than people tend to expect. you can see northern africa from southern france, both continents had boats, and they both had plenty of time to intermingle

Listening to the recap for last episode from you guys made me flash back to an early futurama episode for some reason and now I keep hearing that tune in my head. It keeps singing “we’re doctors on the moon. Put here by the Jadoon. Now they caught their guy, but we still might die, if they’ve left us here marooned.” over and over(also made me picture it being sung by animatronic versions of all the doctors holding harpoons for absolutely no reason).

I don't completely agree with that statement I am fairly older so Sarah Jane Smith is my favorite Martha is #2 on my list. That being said I see where you are going with this. In all fairness though, who could fill the emptiness in all our hearts after Doomsday? That was 2 years building a relationship and the Doctor's chance at happiness a chance of not being alone anymore. Any new companion that soon just feels like replacing your pet after it has passed.
