You're both right and wrong Rick :), it was purposely said that Sypha was a he to throw people off that it was actually a girl in the instruction manual. Similar to says aran in the original metroid. At the end of the game you found out she was a girl. In the show they never once actually called her a he. They said grandchild and used gender neutral pronouns.

Great reaction. I binged these episodes a while ago and it got me interested in the Castlevania universe.

not that it really matters but their actual priests that fought in the crusades but they couldn't use slashing weapons like swords or stabing weapons like spears due to something in the bible about men of god not drawing blood but they were allowed to use maces beacuse they don't qutie draw blood. This is why in early editions of D&D that clerics could use bludging weapons and not slashing or piercing ones.
