Will Sam "cure" Ser Mormont with no bad repercussions?

Also sorry we forgot last weeks poll in the video we will discuss this one in the next video.

Because it's Game of Thrones lol. But to be honest, if it did cure him I'd be a bit disappointing because there's been all this talk about how it's so dangerous to cure etc and if Sam can so, willy nilly cure it, it would make it seem ... well ... less deadly than it's made out to be.

Anonymous

It would be very unrealistic if everything goes right, but I feel like he will be fully cured with out any repercussion

Mabs Ali

It won't fully cure him. I think the theory of dragonglass having healing qualities will need to come into play here, which will ultimately affect him in a big way as it did for Benjin

Anonymous

The surgery might not have medical repercussions, but you know that Sam's getting booted from the citadel. Buddy cop road trip feat. Jorah and Sam? I think yes!

Anonymous

Once the cure is found, there is a possibility to help and recruit the Stonemen into the army of the north!

DrWizarrd

Neither, Jorah may be cured but not without side effects or consequences. I still find it odd yet logical for Jorah to choose science over magic despite the things he’s seen. I guess the Quaithe storyline is now gone for good.

Anonymous

I would rather die than having to peel of the scale from my whole body

Anonymous

Jorah will be fine but sam will be kicked out the maester guild

Anonymous

I think sam will be punished by the arch maesters but the guy he was working for praises him in secret. Also Jorah will be affected by his time with greyscale but will prolong his life to help dany

Anonymous

I think he will cure Jorah but Sam will end up getting Greyscale as well.

Vega

nothing good happens without something bad as a repercussion, he'll likely lose his arm or will die twenty feet from danny. Or more likely he'll be killed after being completely cured.

Mimi M

Sam will cure Jorah then get kicked out for breaking their rules.

Anonymous

I dont think its as simple as just peeling it off. Its a part of him. My first immediate thought was dragonglass, as it has literal magic properties to it. He has to be cured of it somehow, but peeling surely has been done before.

Anonymous

The curing will be fine but I assume the Maesters will kick him out since it's a forbidden procedure.

Anonymous

I think Sam will get kicked out and will travel with Jorah. I also believe that part of the cure is dragonglass and that it will make Jorah somehow immune to the wights.

Anonymous

I believe it will go fine, the arch maester will be impressed but will also banish Sam for disobedience. Since Sam will have no means to go back to Castle Black, he will accept Jorah's aid, who will offer him to travel to Dragonstone with him, where he will arrange for his transport to the Wall. Oldtown is closer to Dragonstone than Winterfel, so I assume Sam might even arrive earlier than Jon and learn that he was invited there anyway and might wait for him.

Derek H

I think everything will be fine for Jorah. In the sense that he'll live.I think it's too early in the season for him to die from this. But then again, it IS Game of Thrones. Maybe he'll have to lose that arm or something. Like comments above me have said, Sam is getting the boot. Doesn't matter how good of a job he did, he broke so many rules to save Jorah's life lol.

There's no way the Maesters won't figure out that Sam is the one who performed this procedure, especially because he was the one asking about it. Jorah probably will be fine, but Sam will go the way of Qyburn and be kicked out of the Citadel.

Anonymous

i agree with you, and he has already learned something about how to defeat the white walkers (that dragon thing) perhaps he learned one more thing before he joins jon snow again

Anonymous

I believe Jorah fits the role of the tragic hero too nicely - despite Sam's best efforts I think the Greyscale will advance too far. I fully expect we will see some reprieve, and a heartfelt reunion with Dany. He'll probably give his life for Dany before the Greyscale takes his mind.

Matthew Thacker

He will cure Mornmont but get kicked out

Wolfovan

The maesters will find out and kick Sam out, whether it works or not. I'm expecting Jorah to be fine at first but then it ends up not working in one way or another. If it does work without any setbacks, greyscale is way less dangerous than what they made it out to be.

Anonymous

He'd get caught and then forced out. Which would either have Sam go back North or go with Mormont.

Red Claw

Someone in the Citadel is going to tell the Archmaestre, that Sam operated on Jorah. Someone must have noticed.

Anonymous

Ghandi Will Attack... thats why.

Anonymous

He's gonna fail this attempt but eventually figure out that Dragon glass is the ingredient that will work. The maesters will find out and Sam will get in trouble but when they find Jorah's greyscale stopped, they'll let Sam off the hook and maybe even promote him.

Anonymous

I think Sam is going to get in trouble for doing a forbidden surgery and disobeying the arc-maester. I don't know what the exact consequences will be but I think they will be serious.

Miss Timi Fantastico

I think they might want to send him to live with the stone men together (healed or not) and Sam and Jorah will escape into the night. I hope. Same doesn't have to mine to become a full blown maester. Most of em suck anyway.

I think that Sam will successfully cure Ser Jorah, without infecting himself. However, I think that he will be in trouble for not only disobeying the Archmaester but also carrying out a "forbidden" procedure. Also, I have a feeling that his trip to the restricted section of the library (as alluded to in episode one) will somehow come to light, perhaps someone saw him go in or come out without him realising it. He may be expelled from the citadel and be sent away with Ser Jorah, ending up at Jon's side (possibly Daenerys' too) and face off against his father.

HybridThizzle

I think Sam will be recognized for curing greyscale, and be made a Maester.

Anonymous

I think Sam will save Jorah but the Archmaester will find out that Sam did it against his word.

Anonymous

Sam killed a white walker and a thenn. I'm pretty sure he can handle grey scale for jorah 😊

Mordirit

I think he's gonna get expelled, and will have to go with Jorah to Daenerys

Scribbles

The cure will work...mostly...but it'll be obvious to everyone that Sam disobeyed and did something forbidden. It could cost Sam his chance at a chain.

Anonymous

I think the cure will work but Samwell will be expelled from the citadel because he practiced without consent from his superiors. I think he will learn what he needs to learn from the books he borrowed from the secret area in the library and be forced to return to the wall. And Jorah will go with him

Anonymous

I doubt "all will go wrong" but Sam's definitely gonna have to answer for it to the Archmeister who'll probably come by in the morning to check if Jorah had killed himself or whether he needs to send him to Valyria. It's gonna be pretty obvious Sam performed a banned procedure on Jorah so he's gonna get flak for that, but I don't think he'll contract grayscale. Not sure if Jorah will survive tho, initially, sure, for story reasons, but with like a third of his skin peeled off his body I don't see him living long in the dirty medieval world of chamber pots and poop-soup. Especially not if he means to travel to see Dany in the state he'll be in. Then again, maybe the archmeister will see the success of the operation and choose to help Sam out instead of punishing him, as he does seem to have faith in Sam.

Jen A. Blue

I don't know if the cure will work, but either way, I think Sam's being tested. He's SUPPOSED to rebel. His willingness to break into the restricted section to learn more or sneak around at night to help a sick man prove he has what it takes to be a good Maester.

Jude Miller

The Maesters will punish Sam and keep Ser Jorah at the Citadel for further study.

Anonymous

Well. I don't think it will ALL go wrong but I don't think everything will be A-OK either.

Anonymous

It's Game of Thrones. Nothing ever goes perfectly.

Toast Knight

I think Sam might get excommunicated. The procedure he used was forbidden. Yeah he saved a dude, but he also broke the rules to do it. Besides sam doesn't really have that much more to do at the Citadel I feel like he will be banished to get him, Jorah AND heartsbane further north for the war to come.

Anonymous

He's gonna get kicked out of the citadel

Anonymous

Sam's definitely getting kicked out. The Maesters won't care that he saved a man's life, only that he broke the rules to do so. "People with Greyscale come and go. The Wall has stood through it all."

Skeletor

I think by some great luck sam stops the spreading and he will heal. My guess is something dragon related will have to be put on the part he scraped off. Jorah will heal but be scarred but he will not die well least not from Greyscale maybe.

Anonymous

D&D have invested too much into Jorah's story line for him to die away from Dany. No, he will survive the treatment then die fighting for his Khaleesi. But Slughorn gonna kick Sam out of Maester School. Valar Morghulis!

Anonymous

I don't think it will all go wrong but I don't think everything will be ok either.

Anonymous

Although a lot of shit goes wrong in game of thrones I think (mostly hope) that Jorah will be cured. I think he might end up reuniting with the Mormonts, and will be important in getting them to side with Dany.

Anonymous

I think the cure will be fine, but I am concerned for Sam's standing after, will he get the boot? Will he be penalized in some way? You would have to think that it takes a long time to heal up after all that scale is removed, like bad burns take a long time with tons of medications and treatments.

Jordan Malloy

I think Jorah will survive but I think Jorah will still have some sort of ailment and Sam will reveal to the Archmaester how he saved Jorah & the Archmaester may reprimand Sam but further take him under his wing, sort of how Jeor Mormount did with Jon Snow.

Anonymous

"Everything is fine" ??? If you expected a happy ending you haven't been paying attention! I do think the operation will be successful and Jorah will cured of grayscale. He may have other problems though. He'll make his way back to Dany just in time to die. Sam will get punished. I'm not sure they'll kick him out though because The Wall does need a maester and they probably wouldn't waste someone to become a Night's Watch.

@llM1ghty

It's a temporary fix for Jorah until the end of the season. Sam will remove the remaining greyscales from Jorah's body, but there will be a dormant curse within the internal organs and it will be fatal.

Anonymous

I think it is going to be a temporary fix and leave him scarred. The book that Sam read in episode 1 showed a way to fix diseases, you can read a bit of it if you look close enough. I think that will ultimately be the way he gets healed.

ObligedUniform

I think that it will be both to a degree. An immediate fix of course, and as he travels to Dany, Sam will accompany him as his attending physician, along with going to see the Dragon glass, maybe end up unofficially being danys maester for a bit. Jorahs condition will return and he will have to injest dragonglass paste, rather than have it rubbed over his skin.

Tom H

The Archmaester has Ned's black and white view of everything, so he'll probably kick them both out no matter what. Sam and Jorah will head North to link up with Jon and Dany. I agree that the dragon glass, or the dragons themselves will be part of the cure. My biggest hope is that Sandor Clegane ends up with the V-steel greatsword Sam is carrying and starts cutting down wights and WWs Blackwater Bay style.
