Really interesting theory I have for what allows Al to move is that he's essentially a philosopher stone powered by 1 soul, and that energy is "powering" his armour. It would also stand to reason that this is how automail works as well, essentially converting soul energy into kinetic energy.

Hehehe, I've been looking forward to this one. And it was awesome! Your reaction to everything in this episode was such a joy to watch. Chimeras, Teacher, Greed, the fights... Nina and Alexander briefly. :P All of that. And your discussions are really just developing from episode to episode, and now the anime really starts throwing stuff at you to discuss, and I love that. And I think you've seen everyone in the OP by now if I'm not mistaken? In some shape or form at least. Can't WAIT for next week. But I have to... Oh well. At least this week finishes on an AWESOME shot. "A HOUSEWIFE!". The scariest thing in the world. Hope Shane enjoys it too when he catches up. :D

Neat theory but it's not true. The automail part can be disproven with Winry's dog. Dogs don't have souls yet he had an automail leg. Plus if it were soul energy powering automail, everyone with automail would be feeling the effects of their soul being drained. And that's never shown to be the case. Similarly, Al doesn't note feeling any soul-draining effects from moving his armor. He in fact notes that he does not get out of breath. His soul certainly seemed intact and whole for the entire show. So apart from Al's movement being unexplained and souls being a source of energy, I don't know what your theory is based on. The fact of the matter is, Al doesn't make any sense. If you think about it too much you're going to find all sorts of problems. Such as how that blood seal doesn't degrade over time or get affected by the weather. Or how exactly does his soul speak and hear without a body capable of such senses? It's best to just not ask these questions.
