Hey all, it's that time of year again! Sorry for the delay we were figuring out busy schedules and this time it is actually going to be on a Saturday! This October 22nd! I know this may mess with some of your availability, but I also realize it might open some of you, too. So we're just gonna roll with it. Either way I'm SO EXCITED for this month's horror films :)

It will start this Saturday at 11am PACIFIC TIME and as always will be at https://www.twitch.tv/filmcrithulk (which you can feel free to follow).

And as always, things are subject to change!

ONTO THE SPOOKY LINE-UP!

11am - Pre Roll

1115am - Bride of Frankenstein - Our opening classic film is none other than James Whale's 1935 sequel to the original landmark film. But this sequel is widely considered one of the best offerings of original Universal Monster movies! Come for the Karloff, stay for the Lanchester!

1230pm - Man's Best Friend - One of my favorite examples of 90's horror cheese. Let's get ready to root for this genetically superior pupper to tear through human jerks! It's a great audience movie so the chat will eat this one up. Don't miss it if you can.

210pm - Def by Temptation - Widely considered a cult classic of horror noire (and a film I've never seen!) this 1990 effort features a pre-superstardom Samuel L. Jackson in a plot I won't spoil. I can't wait to see it.

350pm- Ginger Snaps - If you want a film that captures the angsty late 90's / early 2000's techno teen-laden horror landscape it would be easy to turn to cynically conceived films like Urban Legend or Disturbing Behavior -  but the the best of them is actually this Canadian Cult Classic that aptly turns werewolf-ing into a jaded Gen X teenage feminist metaphor... Among other things. If this sounds like your kind of thing, you may have a new favorite horror movie.

540p - Deep Red - It's finally Argento time! If you like the original Suspiria you're gonna love his previous film just as much. Not that anyone goes to Argento for plotting, but this one actually feels like the best blending of his surrealist instincts with his earlier slasher noir fare. Get ready for a killer Goblin score, too (which seems to have huge influence on Carpenter, though perhaps coincidental).

720pm - The Fly - In our "undeniable huge classic spot" we have none other than David Cronenberg's The Fly. No matter how many times you've seen it, it's just one of those perfect films. But I'm doubly excited for any first timers to find out why.

9pm - Phantom of The Paradise - Cancelled last month due to technical issues, it's back for Halloween! And yes this messed-up musical fits in just as well here. And if anything, it will be an absolute delight in this spot.

1035pm - Audition - Ah, the classic "just before midnight movie that actually scares the crap out of me" slot (last year it was The Descent). For those who haven't seen, do not watch a single trailer. Or google anything. Trust me. And know that while this film is UNDOUBTEDLY a slow burn, the fire will come. Oh boy, will it come.

1230am - Secret Screening #1 - Coming up with something that can match the delirium of last year's showing of HAUSU is no easy feat. After weeks of conversation with all my friends, we finally have the pick (thx Uhnet!). Get ready y'all.

220am - Secret Screening #2 - Hope you like things that are messed up! And may get us another content strike! Here's hoping!
