So while I got the Omnom Covid I'm hunkering down and figured it was therefore smart to do another marathon!!!!!!! TODAY AT 230PM PACIFIC TIME.

The theme of this one actually came out of talking with Landon about all these gonzo, hyper-masculine, deeply-problematic, but hugely entertaining movies of my youth - the ones that gave me a completely warped sense of the universe... and turns out he hadn't seen any of them! So if you haven't either, I feel like it's a good opportunity for you to go "what the fuck?!?!" right alongside of him. And for those who have also seen them all before - time to relive the deeply-irresponsible messaging yesteryear!

As always, it will be on twitch at twitch.tv/filmcrithulk at 230pm today, friday, pacific time! Truth is I could have picked a lot more obscure + weirder stuff, but I wanted to go with a lot of classics in case you haven't seen before.

To the very meme-able lineup! All times are Pacific time!

230pm- PRE SHOW

3 PM - Three O'Clock High (1987) - See what I did with the movie timing there? This is one of the 80's gems I actually missed out on until later in life. It's a loose remake of the classic western High Noon and is actually one of my favorite shot movies of all time (DP Barry Sonnenfeld of early Coens and director of Men in Black, Adams Family Values, Get Shorty, etc).

445pm - Cobra (1986) - Not even close to the best (or worst) Stallone movie, but I will argue it is the MOST Stallone movie ever made. The marathon wouldn't be complete with a renegade cop fantasy and in this one there COULD NOT BE more posturing. Crime is the disease. He's the cure.

615 pm - Red Dawn (1984) - It's funnier for people if they have no idea what this about going into it, so let's not spoil for the new people.

810 pm - Conan The Barbarian (1982) - A genuinely great movie that features a star-making performance for Arnold, captures the age of Hyperborea so damn well, and also doubles as weird Milius conservative power fantasy about how he's going to save the world from evil hippies. I'm not kidding.

1020 pm - Big Trouble In Little China (1986) -  Far be it from me to defend this film one way or another,  there's been a lot better debate by the people it more effects than me. They talk about its strengths - like the fact its genuinely trying to take the piss out of the white savior trope / features incredible performances from James Hong, Victor, and Dennis Dun / and is a typical Carpenter blast of a film - and its weaknesses - like pretty much everything about its aesthetics are irrevocably racist - All I know is that this was on TV all the time and its probably one of the most insane studio films ever made and likely warped my brain.

Midnight - Secret Screening #1

2 am - Secret Screening #2

I'll be pumping my biceps in anticipation.

Not gonna lie, I unabashedly love Master of the Universe. Not good movie, but still so oddly pure.
