Today's the day!

It's going to start at 11:30am Pacific Time actually with some pre-show clips over at https://www.twitch.tv/filmcrithulk Feel free to go in and out of the marathon as you please, but I'll be in that chat the whole time. It's so much fun there and I still think about certain moments we got to share (Chefs do that!)

Also, we decided to use the event to help raise a little cash for one of my favorite food-centric charities, Heart of Dinner https://www.heartofdinner.org/ which "exists to combat food insecurity and isolation within NYC’s elderly East Asian American community. We do this by delivering care packages of hot lunches and fresh produce every Wednesday, lovingly paired with a handwritten and illustrated letter in their native language to bring warmth and comfort."

We also had some sourcing problems for Jennifer's Body and wouldn't have been able to get it uploaded in time so I'm swapping in What We Do In The Shadows, but it turns out the switcheroo is going to help us with the overall timing anyway.

11:30-ish - PreShow Clips!

Noon - Cat People (1942) - I had to start it all off with older film and there are few better than this Tourneur / Lewton classic. It invented (or popularized) a whole bunch of great horror language. A genuinely fun movie.

115pm - Little Shop of Horrors (1986) - Hope you love Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, John Candy, Christopher Guest, Bill Murray and human-eating plants that sing!

3pm - Tremors - Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward just having a barrel of fun. The less said the better.

440pm - What We Do In The Shadows - The comedic joy of joys.

615pm - RAW - Julia Ducournau's tour de force debut about two french sisters going to vet school, just with a tasteful amount of cannibalism.

8pm - John Carpenter's THE THING - A good candidate for the best horror film ever? Paranoia and otherworldly practical effects for days. Also peak hot Kurt Russell. A MUST WATCH if you've never seen.

10pm - Let The Right One In - Let's get arty with the ten spot! But this is genuinely one of the best horror films ever made. Weird. Unnerving. Yet deeply personable and strangely realistic. I couldn't NOT put it on the list.

Midnight - Secret Screening #1

130am - Secret Screening #2

310am - Secret Screening #3

* * *

Can't wait to watch all these with you!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
