a custom character design for my friend percy!! we created a shark race in dnd together so they wanted me to design the god of the race. she has a giant whale rib as a weapon, carved with swirls and dots meant to depict ocean waves and droplets! the red markings are meant to represent blood in water, but they also stand as an unnatural coloring to sort of show the godliness of the design (very okami inspired). i incorporated various shark species in one. the manta rays fins, the long tail fin of the big eye thresher shark, the general coloring of a great white. shes meant to be the origin/mother of the entire race so i wanted her to have a lot of influences in her design.

her name is Eyn (like "aim" but with an "n" sound). its based on the hebrew word for "mother", "eym", but because sharks dont have lips, "m" sounds cant exist! percy pointed that out to me actually!
originally she had barnacles growing on her in a necklace/crown pattern but i decided against it, because barnacles grow on slow moving/immobile surfaces and that just didnt fit Eyn. She is a shark god and sharks are always moving forward.

OH YEAH i forgot to add that the red dots on the palms are meant to represent eyes! because the silhouette looks like a hammerhead shark to me, i wanted to put some kind of "eye" on the hands to make that more obvious!
