Making Real Alphas on tumblr made a little extension on my Making a Murderer story, so I countered with a little extension of my own.

- Well, that’s what I call scary. Can you add some tattoo?

- Already got a full-back tattoo, and one big tattoo in each pecs

- Just add a sleeve into his arm

- That’s easy. He remembers all of the details quite well, and he has no remorse about that

- Great. Add some social media, left some internet traces or something to strengthen our case. And don’t forget about the CCTV

- The tech is already on it. Muller shouldn’t stand in your way

- Well, no one should. I have big dreams and I won’t let anyone spoil it. Okay, will see that beast on court tomorrow.

- Fucking terrible.
- Morning gentlemen. What’s terrible?
- The.. Andresen, you tell him. I’ll go and grab a coffee.
- Right. So last evening at 8:12pm an officer stopped an ongoing assault over at Park district. While booking him he got ambitious and ran the suspect’s DNA in the rapid sequencer and got hits on multiple crime scenes.
- That sounds like a win to me.
- One of them was the King’s Hill murder scene.
- He’d been there too?
- It gets worse. He confessed to the murder. Local PD has been grilling him all night, and he’s been just spewing out details.
- So that means we have two confessed murderers, one of which is up for trial today. The timing is terrible.
- Didn’t you say you would get a coffee?
- I am getting a coffee. If anyone asks I was never part of this meeting.
- I don’t think it is bad timing. I actually think we got really lucky.
- How so?
- You were presented with a suspect exhibiting all reasonable indicators to go to trial. The mental capacity to commit the crime, knowledge of the murder, even confessing to it, and the physical strength to go though with it. There was no way for you to know he was a mentally ill drug addict and made it all up.
- Right, right…. He’s a drug addict?
- He is now anyway. Guards found contraband on his person a few days ago. But what’s important is that he did not go to trial, and we now have the real perpetrator. No one can hold you responsible for going forward with a credible confession. We’ll just regroup, reschedule the trial, and everything will be behind us.
- What about him?
- Him? Oh, him. Well, we have to release him. There is the jail possession to deal with, so we can keep him for a few months, but I don’t know how helpful that would be. We can’t unbreak him, and he would be in general population where all the filth rubs off on him. I say keep him on detox until the aggression levels are down and then have a doctor sign him out. That way nothing will end up on your record. People like him will be back here soon enough anyway.
- Ok. I’m back from coffee.
