I'm always looking for different rationales for transformations, and I thought the original story with a stalker transforming one person in a relationship into something that would be the total opposite of what the other partner would be attracted to was a really great idea. Obviously there could have been race change or sex change as well, but I didn't want to deviate too much from the original. I however wanted the stalker to initially be a bit coy about the transformation and then later be much more manic about it. Keep in mind that it's probably about a year since I read the original, and haven't found it again, so it might be very different than I remember it to be.

I wanted to create some sort of rules for the magic. That Jonathan needs to kiss Michael to force him to do things, and it is a short term effect, so it has to be reapplied throughout the story. I kind of remember something similar in the original. I also wanted the commands he gives to be innocent sounding at first, but be kind of more sinister if you look back on them. I probably could have done more there as well. The shake is some sort of potion to kick start the actual transformation, and then Jonathan performs the transformation in two stages. First a physical one and then a mental one.

I'm not sure the mental one landed exactly where I wanted. I would have preferred to have more of Michael left, but it would take much more text to describe that. I usually want to have a snappy conclusion and not do a Lord of the Rings. I'm also not saying he did lose all of Michael. I can imagine that he is confused, overwhelmed and horny, which makes him particularly out of it at the end of this story.

I just realized I forgot to mention the ear studs and other jewelry. I guess a simple "Your ear studs and shit is on the night stand" as last line would do it.

While writing this my first name for Jonathan was Mike, since he tried to emulate Michael as much as possible. Then I thought it was too on the nose and changed it to Brad, and then thought it sounded too much like a bro, so I went with something equally complex as Michael and moved Brad to the post transformation name.

Also in the first iteration I had a different image. Then Michael went from smooth and clean shaven into something more rough. I liked the direction from the original of going towards smooth, so I went looking for other photos. Unfortunately I ended up with a morph, which I always try to avoid. At least one as obvious as this one. Just look at the distortion of the background by his left arm, the uneven shape around the altered muscles and the poorly blended edges at the cutouts. I started to fix the issues, but decided it wasn't that fun and no one would really appreciate it anyway... This is the image I had first:

Some of the other replacements I considered:
