I LOVE STUDIO GEK

Mia Malvik

Let's do 12 next week

DiPo

Excellent reactions :D

Cookie

ARahhhhhhh

Riley

nah fr i want 30 episodes of naruto by tonight

Riley

ya ur absolutely right! all in all i’m grateful ☺️

kivu_king

damn ive seen this show like 5 times over the span of 10 years, and this is the first time ive been so emotional about the knuckle and shoots monologue on 117, its so random 😂

ssj4rit

117-119 is -2, so we should get +2 more episodes today to balance this out.

y are you mad

49:56 true and the restriction is killua has to bear the pain from being electrocuted all the time

Dientjuhh

lol it's funny how one person can absolutely love hxh and the other thinks it's really boring. I watched 87 episodes and just couldn't bare it anymore lol. Glad you like it so much tho.

IchiGoat

killua the GOAT🗣🔥

Jeff

For the first ep reaction, We cant forget Gon is still a 12(?) year old kid that probably cant process emotions properly, gets tunnel vision and can have a one track mind. Kids/people in general can say terrible hurtful things to people they care about just because they are hurting from something else themselves.

Ulises Flores(Uliee.)

To me Gons relationship with Kite makes perfect sense even without the context of the old HxH. Because that’s just Gons personality and Gins too. Love fast and trust super fast, I would say enough to put their life’s on the line for the people they care about. Even if they meet them for a couple of weeks only. Also kite has a connection with Gin who Gon idolizes. And that scene where Gon said that to Killua, I feel like sometimes the truth hurts. And we know killue dont care about kite like that, BUT again that doesn’t mean Gon loves killua any less because he told him that.

Pam

This is also showing how humans can become monsters and "monsters" can become humans.. Humans have the capabilities of extreme malice.. Gon's character flaws are just showing so much right now

Anonymous

yeah agreed + they both grew up in very different environments, and i'm pretty sure this is gon's like first traumatic experience. so to me personally, it makes sense why he's acting like this & it makes him a bit more relatable too

kai

that silva moment is easily top 5 i remember gagging when he popped up on the screen

Michael H

Ikalgo is, and always will be, squidirific. But, I totally agree; that whole storyline is D plot. Just a D-rank bum of a plot. Jack knows.

Ramennn

I hope they'll do 12 episodes next week. I meannn, it's almost there. 🥹 Just finish until 131 because of the momentum. Anyways, if they can't, i understand. ✨ Thanks!

Pitou

If you're wondering about Zeno's pointing out how his time was compressed or restricted was because Meruem pass by through Zeno and Netero with ease. Therefore, the King could've killed them both in an instant. The narrator didn't point this out for a reason..

Pam

That's why the first watch feels drawing with the ikalgo and wolfin stuff but its character building of the ants and their psychology

Mansxlook _05

I love the look on cannons face during the knuckle and shoot scene he looks so confused lmao

BigManSirob

Ngl, Brig you're definitely forgetting something because I'm pretty sure that Ikalgo's actions play more into the eventual outcome of this arc than most of the other characters actions. Also, I feel like Ikalgo vs Brovada is way more like fights we see in the manga nowadays, more than most other fights you've seen at this point, at least in terms of its structure.

Pam

Brovada 'the lobster' is one of my favorite character arcs in this show lol I don't know I just tear up at the end, hopefully you'll like it too 💙

Fauget Remedy

It's a huge world there's proly someone stronger beyond Netero - Manga readers 😏

Pitou

I love this game, tell me a spoiler without telling it's a spoiler!

Izaya

Kite was Gon's closest connection with his dad, so in a way, Kite became his whole reference to what he projects his dad to be. its natural that Gon would create e more deep connection with Kite then Killua. For Gon, Killua is a peer and a friend, Kite was more like an idol or a hero, someone above him. I think Gon would be able to accept Killuas death easier because of that. But he was NOT ready to lose Kite, someone he thought to be invincible and reliable, like how we may see our dads when we are kids

Dio

RIP THOUGHT THIS WAS NARUTO

Izaya

He is not forgetting anything, its just Brig being Brig, And not to enter spoiler territory but Welfin is literally the MVP of the arc, and his whole development is one of the most fascinating things. I hope the other 3 can appreciate it, and i think they will, at least a little

kivu_king

hxh is my top 3 i guess, im curious what are your fav shows? i feel like hxh has good pacing compared to smth like naruto or one piece so it doesnt get boring besides few episodes

Nrock23

all the separate events are happening at the same time. There is a cool video that actually shows it is 3 mins have passed with everything mashed up together. I recommend it after finishing the arc

ffltscat

Yea I really don’t understand why this version deleted the previous kite scene which is super important. Not just kite appeared at the very beginning and inspired Gon to be a Hunter, even in ep38 when Gon returned to his home he specifically brought Killua to the place where he met Kite and told Killua the Kite story. Kite is very special to him, like the first ‘father figure’. I totally feel Gon in ep116.

kingkoopa98

FYI Marcos is the name of the government official who was providing information to Knov and Morel. Like Jack said, he's presumably the one who gave the Hunters the codes for the basement area since he's been smuggling Bizeff's women in for years.

Kyle

I just like the 🐙 he's a cool guy. I think the lobster is too weak. should of been a stronger or even cooler looking ant would of made the scenes better

SoClose

LET THEM COOK. There's no "filler character" in this cast. Be it Palm, Ikalgo, Welfin, Brovada, all their storylines have a purpose. Some BIG, some not so big, but important nevertheless. Have patience, it'll pay off. And regarding the time dilation, again they had to stretch the content to 24 min an episode, so it’s practically impossible to present it in a realistic manner. Another reason why I want a new HxH rendition. The 2011 anime was being held back by being a weekly show.

Gabriel Machuca Wegermann

I gotta love how literal and concrete Cannon can be at times lol. Silva was basically telling Zeno: "You talk to much" or "whatever, Dad", he wasn't literally saying he needed to forget exactly half of what his dad told him.

Michael H

@Dientjuhh Do you know if they’ve started watching Naruto normally, or are they still doing binge sessions? I feel like the epic binge sessions are going to burn them out and take away from their experience of it, personally.

Astro

And they did 5 last week. It adds up @ssj4rit. We gotta be logical

ssj4rit

Ok some people taking this too seriously. I literally said 117 minus 119 is -2, this wasn’t meant to be a serious suggestion lol. I guess people thought I was saying this is 2 less than usual, which I wasn’t. It was just a random (and probably bad) math joke.

Delane Gill

Manga readers thinking they’re being slick with spoilers when they’re really not is just so cringe to me

SoClose

^ It's you muthefkahs that are making this worse. Just hit like, or ignore and move on. But whining about a big spoiler when in reality, without context, this would make no damn sense.

Dio

SoClose speaking so many facts lately

Dio

WAITING ON THE NARUTO UPLOAD AKA THE BETTER HXH

Mia Malvik

Lol sorry I thought you meant it was 2 less than normal and wanted to clarify 😭

Mysterious Figure

When I was watching that scene I was rolling my eyes at how superficially I think both of those characters are written and how little I care for them and anything they do or say.

Mysterious Figure

The narrator talking about so many irrelevant things we can literally see for ourselves on screen is adding salt to the wound... "oh the explosion from the red monster ant made the tower tilt slightly but the big smoke around it made it not fall completely but now it looks like a big colosseum..." The show is already yappy as hell with more of it happening by talking about whats happening than actually showing whats happening... and then you go and narrate even such irrelevant details?! How much more time is the show gonna waste before showing us the resolution of all the conflict already? Then this octopus character has to go through every little part of his thought process in his brain while giving us a DIAGRAM of the map and his irrelevant plan step by step every time he is thinking about it... I already know the layout of the basement of this palace by heart. I am so happy we are coming to the conclusion of this show and I would vote if I could if the boys would watch only this show from now on till its over. Oh and if someone could explain how Killua suddenly learned how to use Godspeed between getting healed after almost dieing and infiltrating the palace that would be awesome. I know that the real answer is the writer suddenly out of nowhere pulled it out of his amazingly creatively talented brain... yeah... but if some of the fanboys have a better answer I will hear you guys out as always.

Fauget Remedy

@SoClose You're pathetic and have a very sad life. 😔 I'll pray for you..

Frizen

Killua did leave. The first shot shows him outside of the room and if Meleron showed up in the room Pitou would have seen him.

SoClose

Proffesor of Yappamology over here, giving the narrator a run for his money. Killua obviously learned how to use Godspeed during that period of time from watching the rhythm of your mother's pair of fat tits slapping against each other. Law of thermodynamics. You'll figure it out.

Vlad

Amount of comments about Killua footsteps will be incense

GBuckets

lmao wait till they learn about freeza vs goku, whole fight supposedly took only 5 minutes and it used to be the longest fight in anime history

Ale

We are so close to the arc ending, can't wait!!!!

DAI

The reason why this version of HxH did the different approach to the Kite story is because the anime studio didn't know whether this anime could go on air until the chimera ant arc or not. Since anime is still commercial activities and viewership rating heavily influence the sponsors, they cann't just assume it will go on and make anime based on that. Kite will not appear in the story until the chimera ant, so if they show him in ep1 and the anime got cancelled mid way, his appearance would become the unknown foreshadowing for the first time viewers.

Nazerke K

As a huge HxH fan, I don’t like some episodes, I confirm that some episodes drag downs🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm Literally Shinei Nouzen

Cannon speaks for all viewers when he says you need to cook a ten episode video. I would absolutely sit through a three hour long reaction.

nans

for Brig and McKay, super random but Ikalgo has the same VA as Pain hahah

Christina Laegel

I think it’s perfectly valid for you guys to not like particular character/story arcs within the main arc. Especially on the first watch through. I remember feeling super frustrated with Ikalgo (despite absolutely loving him) during these episodes. But on a rewatch, I can sympathize with him a little more since I know how everything ends up. Like you all said. Trust the process and the payoff will be worth it in the end. I can promise you that haha

BipolarKitten

Morel vs Pouf really remind me of 1 fight in Naruto that last for few episodes with nothing happen.

celery

ntm on ikalgo now 😖

ssj4rit

That’s kinda weird cuz even in 1999 they didn’t know if Kite would ever come back and still included him in the first episode.

DAI

That's just how different studios, producers, sponsors react in each situatio.

ssj4rit

Regarding Killua, there are quite a few stepping stones to him developing the ability: 1. His entire childhood of assassin training + the training arc in GI lets him control and create electricity 2. In the middle of the arc, he experimented with new techniques against the ants (En, using electricity for a short moment to speed up reaction against darts), all of which gave him the fundamentals of this new application of electricity With both combined, it makes natural sense the next step is to use electricity on his whole body to do what he did on a small scale in the dart fight. He already has all the prerequisite techniques and aptitudes, he just discovers a new way to use them all. It’s a mental shift more than anything. There are also 6 days between Killua waking up and the Invasion, so he has time to try it out and figure out the feel and mechanics of it all before he has to use it for real. And above all…it still runs out quite quickly and he needs to charge for it (this part is not yet shown, but Brig mentioned it already). Since Nen is based on risk/reward, the gains are balanced by these risks. Hope that helped.

Sasha

Vinland reunion yap is legendary😂

Sasha

Can't wait for the peak episodes

Sasha

I just can't understand the top 3. But I know those are probably the most famous ones also.

Victor Haglund

i'll be honest i've been a huge hxh fan for many years but this rewatch reminds me how dreadful this arc is in many ways.

Gabriel Machuca Wegermann

This is actually a urban myth. The first episode of the 2011 anime aired in the 2nd of October of 2011, while the LAST episode of the chimera ants arc in the manga was released in the 3rd of October of 2011. I know they started production before the release date, obviously, but they still had a very good guess that the arc in the manga would finish before they'd catch up to it as it was obvious there weren't gonna be many episodes more and the arc was ending in the manga. And hell, the 99' version included it before the chimera ant even existed, there was no real reason as why they couldnd't include it as it was still an important event in Gon's development, chimera ant arc or not.

ZappyZ

@Fauget you definitely misread what they wrote lol and then insulted them.

AA

When's Naruto's next upload ?

Dientjuhh

Its fucking boring af imo, but "better" is subjective👍🏻

Dientjuhh

Aot is imo the best anime, Naruto is my favourite anime and one piece is my favourite manga.

Fauget Remedy

@ZappyZ Yeah' I did. 🥺 but it seems like he didnt took it personally. Sorry, boo! @SoClose

Pitou

Gyro is foreshadowing the future now. Though I don't think I would be alive to see that happen.

Hunter Snider

If Ikalgo has a million fans, I'm one of them If Ikalgo has 5 fans, I'm one of them If Ikalgo has 1 fan, that one is me If Ikalgo has no fans, I'm no longer alive If the world is against Ikalgo I'm against the entire world

em1uni

Oh Victor, if only but your patience could withstand the beauty and grace that is the best episodes of Peak x Peak. Hope you get better soon 😔🙏

Gabriel Machuca Wegermann

Can always count on Mysterious Figure having the most basic, deadbrain, room temp IQ opinion you could ever imagine. It's basically a staple of this comment section by now.

Dio

THIS ARC IS BORING AF, IT FEELS LIKE THE MOST DRAWN OUT ARC IVE EVER SEEN WITH TOO MANY CHARACTERS NO ONES CARES ABOUT

Gabriel Machuca Wegermann

We've seen Killua charging himself with electricity way back in the Greed Island arc, it's not something that hasn't been established. I don't understand the people that act in disbelief as if Killua came out with his abilities "outta nowhere" when we've seen him working on them bit by bit throughout the show.

Asbjørn Kennedy

I think another point about how close Gon felt to Kite has to do with the thing Gon said in an earlier episode, about how all the convenient timings for people he met along the way to help him get stronger and/or to the next point in his journey - and how it felt like it couldnt just be a coincidence, but rather something his dad had laid out for him (Wing, Greed Island, Kite etc). Pitou effectively stopped that cycle, in Gon’s mind at least, which could be a big reason for him being this upset

Mysterious Figure

You guys arent even trying anymore. Shame. Was fun when you were. I know your favorite show can do no wrong. I was just interested how far it can go. Seems like there's no limit.

Asbjørn Kennedy

Eh I think their reactions and surprise to the level Killua shows off here is more than justified, to put it lightly

SoreDakeNoKoto

Killua's mini-brawl with Youpi well encapsulates the idea behind Hatsus. Basic stats like physical strength, speed and durability are often decided by a combo of talent and common training, with more focus on the latter. If those stats were all there is to Nen, then you could ~reliably predict who'd win a battle, at least after the first few exchanges. This palace mission would be a failure from the start, not even worth attempting. Enter the Hatsu. Nen Abilities. When done right, they're the expression of some significant part of a Nen user, combined with their imagination, and manifested through their aura. The result is a wildcard of sorts that means the course of a battle, let alone victory, can be highly unpredictable -- roughly in inverse proportion to the disparity in base stats between opponents. This Nen specialization backed by the user's quiet conviction (and restrictions), also means that the price required for an opponent to overcome their Hatsu with brute force, are so high, it may as well be impossible. Whether it's APR's invincibility, Morel's Smoky Jail, Youpi's helplessness before Killua's Godspeed or even Baise's enslaving kiss. So, Hatsus are the (potential) Great Equalizer. Sure, our gang will likely (but not definitely) get stomped by the Royal Guard eventually, because base stats are very different indeed. But if the goal is some decoying, some stalling, they've got a decent shot, especially with enough planning, teamwork, resolve and luck. Maybe capable of even more than stalling, if circumstances allow.

Cookie

YES KILLUA THATS MY GOAT

Cookie

$im killua zoldyck

Hawkin

Gon was just a random kid living on some island with his aunt. His parents had died in an accident right after he was born. That was his life. Basically, Kite shows up and tells him: - your parents did not die in an accident - your father's name is Ging, one of the best Hunters in the world - I'm his student, currently searching for him - Hunters are people who do all this amazing stuff, this and that - you, Gon, have potential to be a great Hunter too - here's your father's Hunter license, go find him Kite is extremely important to Gon. He inspired him and gave him his driving force in life. The changes the 2011 version made may seem minor to some, but for me it really made the story a lot worse by leaving this out. And interactions between characters throughout the story also suffers because of this. It's a shame.

C E.

For the longest time, you've been provoking fans in the comment section. There's been a fair amount of people who love hxh saying this show is not perfect, or that they do not enjoy some of the episodes or characters because of valid reasons but of course you selected them out. On another note, I thought by now you'd realize that you're so deep into your prejudice that even when someone explained or countered your fair points, just as theirs are also valid, you're the one who simply could not accept those explanations because you see everything wrong in this show.

Gabriel Machuca Wegermann

I wasn't talking about the guys specifically, but rather some commenters. And I get it that you might be surprised, the scene in an on itself wants you to be surprised at Killua, but some people act like it makes no sense or that it's just the writer coming up with it out of nowhere, when in reality (like I said) we've seen bits here and there of Killua working on it since the greed island arc.

Gabriel Machuca Wegermann

It's not that we don't believe the show has faults or that it can't do no wrong. Anyone who's a fan of the show can name you plenty of criticisms, especially after watching it multiple times. It's just that you actually never mention any of the legit faults of the show and instead come up with the most dumbass, no-sense criticisms possible, and then act like you're not the low iq individual whenever people roast you for it. That said, as much as I used to get mad at your comments you actually make me kinda sad: you're either this dumb and actually believe the shit you say, as retarded as it might be, or you just trolling and milk the attention the hate gets you which implies you live a miserable life. Your existence is pathetic.

Mysterious Figure

Its pretty funny how many people get so triggered about a random persons opinion about their favorite piece of fiction to the point where they will imagine and wish the worst possible quality of their personal life upon them just to vent their rage into virtual space. You are literally imagining what my personal life is like over a piece of fiction LMAO. I find that to be a sign of psychological instability and something I would be quite worried about if I were you. That aside, yes, this show so far has been so average, and so many of these people here trying to explain and justify the many instances of horrible lazy story/character writing with their desperate self inserted attempts to justify and imagine a deeper story where there is none at this point to me is more funny than anything else. I am still watching just to finish what I've started, because at this point it would have been even more of a waste of time if I were to just stop without seeing it through to the end. And I cant wait for it to be over.

ssj4rit

Well it seems even when someone tries to reasonably explain something you just say they do a bad job at it or they are a fanboy. If you want to be taken seriously maybe make better points or engage with what people say (atleast the reasonable ones)? That being said I’m not supporting anyone who is making ad hominem attacks or personal insults, it ruins their credibility and shows they don’t have good points of their own to make. I was actually surprised to read some of the comments towards you. Even though I like the show and disagree with the points you bring up usually, I wouldn’t advocate AT ALL at saying someone’s existence is pathetic because they don’t like a show…come on, there’s no reason to insult REAL people over CARTOONS (on both sides of the argument).

ffltscat

Man if you check out his previous comments since the 1st HxH upload you will know why hes making so many hating and dumb comments. This Naruto fan kid being non stop. Waste of time explaining to him. All he wants is to prove HxH worse than his perfect Naruto.

Apple

12 episodes next week would be lit

hknguyen

These three episodes are very good to me… Regarding Gon’s rage, it’s not all about Kite, but about Gon’s pride too. I think his logic is similar to Knuckle’s thought in these episodes. Knuckle desperately risked his life (and humanity & the world) just to punch Youpi in the face, to avenge his and Shoot’s pride. He admitted that he was never that close to Shoot, didn’t consider him a friend, and didn’t even like him lol (and Shoot isn’t even dead). And it was just because Youpi didn’t finish them off, which was an insult to both of them lol (and Shoot agreed with all that lol). We all know how prideful Gon is, perhaps more than any other character in the show. Gon is always extremely stubborn, prideful, and selfish. In the fight with Hanzo, Gon never surrendered but didn’t accept his win; he wanted them to work together to find a way to make him feel good about his win. He also didn’t use his hunter license until he could return the badge and punch Hisoka. He sacrificed his arms when fighting the Bomber for no reason other than his pride. Seeing himself being so weak, saved by Killua and Kite, and Kite getting killed because of him would hurt him and his pride so bad, and it’s not very necessary how important Kite is to Gon. Oh and as Knuckle said, anyone who risks their life with you is a friend. Simple as that, they don’t always need 10-20 episodes to go up and down together to be friends. Do you know what truly scares Gon? A killing machine. Gon was very scared when he saw Mike, Killua's family’s trained hunting dog. Mike has no emotion and nothing in his mind, and Gon said he didn’t want to fight him. That kinda reminds me of Kite’s state right now, it’s so disturbing. Pitou would have killed him like anyone else rather than making him a toy or a killing machine. It haunted me too, not just Gon, and I would be so mad too. By the way, the “delinquent” culture is depicted so well through Knuckle’s design and thoughts.

Nobel - Karlsefni

Don't know if this has been explained to you guys yet but I've seen you've been confused about it for the last few episodes, Hayga-sama is the Lion/Tiger's old name before he switched it to Leol, Remember the scene where Leol encountered cheetu when he was running back to the palace and Leol got mad when cheetu referred to him as Hayga and Leol said he owed him something for flutter warning him about Knuckle and Shoot waiting in the bush to ambush him, It was mentioned a couple times after that but I think that is was when it was first introduced Ikalgo wasn’t aware of this since he had not directly been told so that is what ultimately lead brovada ( the blue lobster) and Welfin to be suspicious

Shiro

If you think Togashi’s writing is lazy, I would like you to point out who do you think is a better writer in your opinion? Maybe it will give us a frame of reference against which you are comparing HxH?

Mysterious Figure

@Shiro If we're simply talking about anime/manga, I'd obviously mention Hayao Miyazaki, Kentaro Miura, Hiromu Arakawa, Hajime Isayama, Makoto Yukimura... and the like, so as you can see all of those people aren't writing anything remotely similar to what HxH is all about. HxH, when it boils down to it, is basically a children's cartoon compared to most of the work the people I've listed wrote about, so when I see all these "intricate" posts about HxH characters and story I just can't take it seriously.

Jem de Jager

Well, in a later episode Killua himself will explain how much electricity it took to charge him up to that lvl. For maybe a 10 sec Godspeed, that was only enough to stun and out perform Youpi in speed. He almost *died* running away, because he was too inexperienced in regards too Godspeed’s duration/energy expenditure. To me, all and all, it was a well balanced, pleasant surprise

arcv

It's a bit frustrating when people don't grasp the nuance in Gon's character arc in this arc. I think he's easily as complex and interesting as Killua, his nuance is just less attractive and relatable to people. I appreciate your explanation of his arc here. He's always been a flawed kid, as has Killua, but in different ways. His flaws manifest in situations like the ones you mentioned and this one. He's very prideful and very stubborn, and it causes him to be selfish. I think that makes him interesting, and more likeable as a character if I'm honest. I think back to the moment after they played that Dodgeball game with Razor, when everyone was injured and Tsezguerra got a phone call from the bomber... Gon's prideful rage made him extremely selfish, and he risked the lives of his friends on a whim in pursuit of satisfying his pride. He was lectured for it immediately after. Gon has always been flawed.

Ghedo

for some its hard to get everything right on your first watch. I think that has to do with how Anime is as a medium, Subtitles, Translations, how Japanese tell their stories, how you need to keep so many things in mind with these complex stories and so on. And then not everybody can assess characters and motivations ^^

Nonos

Based top 3 mine would prolly be aot, one piece then berserk since ur counting manga

esie ♡︎

Knuckles voice just reminds me of Onizuka too much. You guys need to watch GTO one day.

Lkiaus

i love how they always bring up aot 🤞🏼🤞🏼
