I never really got the Greed Island hate. if you just go along for the ride its really fun and lighthearted. especially after york-new it was a breath of fresh air. also bc the next arc is by far the darkest

I heard somewhere that Togashi deliberately alternated darker arcs and lighter arcs. Kinda fits if you think about it: Exam (light), Zoldyck (dark), Heaven’s Arena (light), Yorknew (dark), Greed Island (light), CA (nightmarish), Election (light…and underrated).

So happy to see Cannon loves this arc, and it lightens up his heart! This arc is one of the most popular arcs in Japan. Straightforward shonen classic with Togashi's creative twist. For me, every arc gives me totally different feelings and outcomes, and H×H has it all. There's nothing like this show and it always has a special place in my heart. Can't wait for more to come!

Killua beating everyone on that room for the hunter exam, is like the jjk scene with Gojo killing the modify humans at the Shibuya station. Of course is backwards, Gojo's scene can be considered a reference to Killua's.

I had the same reaction as yours when I first recognized some of the old characters being there in a future scene. Exam feels forever ago and it was kinda nice to see some familiar faces. and how long has Tonpa been in his game again? It’s a bit crazy to think that he was there when other prominent hunters took their exams. The man needs to have a backstory and a life - it’s about time he retires 😂
