I think HxH is the crown jewel of Madhouse animation. The animation quality is consistent throughout the 148 episodes, in fact, I think it even improves in the future arcs. I think the animation team truly loves the story and it shows.

I don’t think it’s the worst. It’s the one that introduces the power system. Although not as hyped or excited as the other two, I still enjoyed it, not to say the final fight.

Hunter exam arc is amazing. For me the Hunter exam arc is middle of the ranking. Arena, Greed Island and Killua's house are all below Hunter exam. 20 episodes of consistent storytelling with good writing and direction

Heaven's arena has 1 good episode then 1 bad episode, then 1 good episode then 1 bad episode. There is no sequence of 2 good episodes in a row, or barely has it. overall all episodes of the show are good but in Heaven's arena there is a huge inconsistency. Chimera ant all episodes are good though. all 60 episodes are goated.

Gon is extremely dumb lol. Did he get lucky with the Hanzo draw, sure. Did anyone do anything outside their established character? No. Everyone did what is expected of their character in that situation, so I don't see how the episode was dumb.

I said my problem with it is that he got rewarded for his stupidity rather than having to learn something and develop his character.. Yeah I understand Gon is a dumb kid still, but the fact that we just watched him being a dumb kid for 20 minutes and not learn anything is why I found the episode to be extremely annoying to watch lol

Not everything has to be character building, for it to be good. Gon is already an established character. This episode was more showing the audience (Netero, Killua, etc) and us the viewers just how hardheaded he is. It's more of a character reaffirming for Gon and character establishing for Hanzo, as well as getting in the head of Killua. You can of course still dislike it, but I don't think the episode was written badly. This is my second fav episode after ep 20 in the hunter exams.
