THESE EPISODES WERE INCREDIBLE

Everyone having videoplayer problems, try watching it in Firefox, this for some reason fixed the buffering/lagging problems.

I believe the reason they didn't recognize Thors's name was because those were the King's guardsmen and not Jomsvikings (There were some Jomsvikings in the background.) Most of them were resting in their camps after the battle during Thorfinn and Canute's discussion

Go back to old player pls, also idk if using the player of patreon can get you into problems with showing the full footage.

Canute is saving the vikings by creating heaven on earth for them. In a world ruled by God they will all go to hell.

Lol I think Einar is good for Thorfinn a vise versa. Having a different perspective against Thorfinn’s now calmer self makes for a good duo

Not sure if anyone else let you guys know this in the comments above yet, but Karlsefni in Old Norse means "promising boy" or "the makings of a man"

Been meaning to say this for a while but i can barely hear Jack in a lot of the vids. Idk if it cuz of the mics position or because he speaks softly to you guys and not to us.

The camera is at an angle so you cant really tell but its exactly in the middle of us. Must be in the DNA because mckays voice is really quiet too so if we move it closer to jack we might lose mckay. I just need to remind jack for the millionth time to speak louder but he says that most of the time hes just "saying it for himself" whatever the f that means😂

Fun fact - the line from Canute about stopping the waves is an actual line from the real-life Canute the Great. The context was completely different, but the point remains roughly the same - to say that even though he was the most powerful man in the region at the time, his might still paled compared to that of God. As a Dane, knowing this famous line beforehand made that moment pretty sick ngl, though I totally get why it would confuse the heck out of you or seem kinda random lmao Vinland Saga generally has a lot of historical facts right, especially in terms of how the culture is portrayed (I'm mostly referring to general stuff and not so much what the historical characters said or did). Makoto Yukimura deserves praise not only for his incredible storytelling and art, but also his extensive research into viking culture

Cannon's face when he thought Canute was about to actually atop the waves😧
