I don’t think the title of the episode is spoilery at all. In fact, I think that it’s quite important to understand zeke’s deep connection with baseball. That’s quite a vital part of the character

Erwin’s dub actor, J Michael Tatum, absolutely KILLS his role. Perfect casting. Both sub and dub actors are great, but as a native English speaker it hits so much harder with his incredible acting. Oh and can’t forget his performance at the end of season 2 while Erwin’s arm is bit, “I SAID ADVANCE GOD DAMMIT!!”

I listened to the dub out of curiosity for Erwin’s death and just cringed the whole time. Suddenly everyone having American voices really threw me lol. I think what it’s gotta be is whichever version you start watching it in, you have to stick to that one. I’m a sub watcher since 2013, so I can’t do the dub for AOT but I don’t mind dub for Fruits Basket as a counter example, because I watched that back in the early 2000s in English first.

Tatum also wrote the script for the dub. Having watched both languages, I actually think the dub script is better; Tatum just really knows what he’s doing.

Holy shit, just subscribed on patreon because i couldnt wait for this episode. I get litteral chills every time I see one of Erwin's scenes. His speech for the charge is my absolute favorite scene in all of anime. So freaking amazing.

The 2nd guy from the right, I am sorry I do not remember his name At the moment when Levi told Erwin to give up his dream and to die and then Erwin smiles, I felt that our guy was preventing his tears ! and even the guy with glasses at the left noticed ! :(

Brig is right, the dub of that scene is SOOO much more emotional and intense and heartbreaking. I watch AOT in dub (but I've watched other shows sub, I'm fine with either) and personally think the dub for AOT overall is just better..the translation is kinda weird in sub sometimes

I agree the english version of Erwin speech is far better, I am french so it not even about that native language is more appreciated. The english version make me feel so much more emotion than the sub one.

I've watched the dub version of the charge to see what all the fuss was about, but I didn't feel it as much as I felt original version. I'm neither american nor japanese, but to me japanese voice actors have this extra something that their american counterparts simply don't have. A certain depth and color to their voices that makes it way more emotionally impactful, rather than just cool. To each their own, but I will never get why some people think dub is better.

For me, the sub is the most emotional one, and it gets more emotional the more I watch it. First time, I was too scared to cry, now as I watched with you guys I shed tears throughout. One of the best scenes.. damn

The sub of this is great, the voice actor did an incredible job, and I would never downplay the effort that took. However, like Brig said, man… the dub just hits way too damn hard in that scene. I get chills every time.
