Gon didn’t lose his arm permanently but he did lose something else potentially much more valuable. Alluka or Nanika only healed Gons body.. Manga spoilers below- He still cannot use Nen, in the manga he tries to summon his aura but can’t. He has a conversation with Ging regarding his lack of Aura. To paraphrase Ging basically tells him he threw it away with his restriction and he’s lucky that he’s alive back to ‘normal’ though he also states he could see Gons aura implying it may still be there but Gon just can’t see it. But as it stands he returns to Mito to live a normal life for now.

Togashi is a master of anticlimaxes. He does what feels natural to the story and the characters, not what the audience expect. This keeps us on the edge and leaves us guessing on what will come next.

Regarding the continuation of the manga, one potential reason why Togashi can't pass it on to somebody else is because he comes up with a lot of it as he goes. Like obviously he has big chunks of it mapped out but in a recent interview he said he has created multiple endings for HxH but can't decide which one he wants to use. He also constantly changes his mind about things.

its actually hard to be interested in arc election when ur just out of chimera ant. only the 2nd time ive watched and u know whats going on on the manga u pay attention to the details of the arc and its legit so good. but this is bad written from togashi tbh, or atleast bad pacing from the anime for making the arc so dragged out with yapping. but when u rewatch knowing whats happening in the manga pariston legit goes to among the best, if not the best villlain in the show. ;/

If you guys think these episodes are yappy, you're gonna have a hard time watching the next arc if it ever gets animated. The recent hxh manga chapter are infamously filled with long, drawn-out, confusing yap sessions. There's this one page that people always post where togashi literally just gave up trying to draw anything after the first couple panels and then the rest of the page is just walls of text on a completely blank background 😭. I mean I think it's really interesting how much detail he goes into but I won't lie and say I've never been tempted to skip a few dialogue boxes out of boredom and frustration 😅

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Its insane how much you guys want things to happen that don't in the show. They literally all happen in the next arc lmfao. This show really does blue ball so many things towards the end which is why the fandom wants the series to continue so badly. I can count like 20 things that you all want as a group to see happen and no joke they all happen in like the next 50 chapters of the manga.

I htink HxH benefits most of Togashi's writing style and less of the actual events that happen. I think he could leave a dozen pivotal story moments and their context written down for someone to finish the story but his roundabout writing style will never get reproduced. HxH is what it is because of the intricacies of his writing i think

I’m a HxH Stan but this dialogue isn’t that good. Good dialogue is like Sopranos or GoT. Sometimes Togashi gets too over explanatory on mundane details.

They recently stated that polls are not a confirmation of their decision (poll on jack’s seat in GoT), they just use them to get an idea of what the people want to see. If they want to watch a different show or do their own thing they will.

I think to be fair to both of you, there are some things that can be unpacked here. The original commenter's perspective could be influenced by future events, which you aren't privy too. It's very easy to reflect on Togashi's writing and dialogue when you are doing so in retrospect, because truthfully ALL of the micro details that make up characters and their decisions are so important to the excellence of Hunter. On the flip side, because you can only see a lot of this in retrospect, as you go through it blind with more limited information, it's very easy to find it boring. If you don't have the context which unlocks the full scope of the situation - why wouldn't you find it boring. I say with 100% confidence that if any of the guys who were new to the show ever read the manga and revisited this, or we all got more animated seasons (fingers crossed) the tune would change entirely. That's not to say the current perspective isn't fair because it absolutely is. Even from the last batch of chapters we received the other year every reader had to re-contextualize SO much of what we thought and knew about past events. It is what it is and it's very okay for people to not be on the same page as you without the entire picture. In fact, the ability for future events to be so transformative is what makes it truly great in the first place. Happy watching. Good vibes for the last few episodes. Pray for more.

@ssj4rit I think they got burnt out by not really binging the Chimera Ant arc. It probably felt way longer for them, and I agree with Carter's criticism that it ends really abruptly and you continue into the next arc without fully processing the ending of the Chimera Ant arc. It's my biggest criticism of the anime as well. That arc was so big, the ending was done well, but they should've sat with it for a couple more episodes to really set up the next arc properly.

I personally prefer Mob Psycho for its thematic variety, emotions, and real-world connections. For me OPM is missing in these departments but hey it shares a lot of other elements so should be a really fun watch for them. Also a big fan of a certain character in season 2 starting with a G

As a writer myself, I understand Togashi's dilemma of not wanting others to finish a story for him. One, I'd feel as though I couldn't call it my work anymore. Two, you can have an objective idea and outline in mind of the ending, but when finally getting to drawing/writing the scene or leading up to it, the content can change in the moment or last second to something even better (which Togashi has done in the manga due to "gut feeling") and therefore there's a feeling of missing out on something better when someone else does it for you. Sometimes the ideas aren't as greatly impactful when you get there as you thought and therefore need last-minute changes. I don't know about drawing but I assume the writing concept might apply to that too. Drawing it a certain way (Gon's Rage) might not have been a great moment had someone else drawn it. This is a heavy mindset in writers, not saying it's always the best mindset. I would deeply regret it if I made something that I know the story could have been "better" had I done it myself. And if it wasn't already clear, Togashi takes a lot of pride in his work.

Spoilers below 👇 Yes he still cannot use nen at present in the manga. However the next arcs are more focused on Kurapika, Leorio, hisoka, the phantom troupe, dark continent etc. So we don’t see Gon a lot. My guess is Alluka could heal his body, but not remove his nen restriction. It’s sort of implied he still has aura but he just can’t see it, so he could potentially get back control Of his Nen. But again we don’t see him much.
