I just got Kim Jung Gi's 2022 sketchbook collection today. I've been watching his live streams and learning more about their work in general. My friend Mogy64 had suggested I give their work a deeper dive and it's what ultimately fueled my interest in traditional drawing. Not only has my art vastly improved from watching 2-3 streams but my perception of my own work as well. It's not from learning some special Kim Jung Gi techniques but just being inspired by the confidence this man had while he drew.

The packaging of the sketchbook is really cool and I'm really debating keeping it despite not really having space for it. It came with a small post card of a limited print poster that convinced me to buy the sketchbook. I got an ad for the poster a little while ago and while I really wanted to get it I felt like I'd rather use the $150 to buy a collection of his work as opposed to the poster. There's only 1000 being made and while I really wanted it I'm glad I went with the book. To my surprise it also came with a small poster of one of his illustrations. It looks really rad. I want to figure out how I can minimize the crease damage and frame it. It's a fairly large book ar around 400 pages and I'm excited to check it out in detail.

Unfortunately the book is now sold out but there are still other books of his available on his site https://www.kimjunggius.com/
