These monsters were once the humans who inhabited Khaenri'ah 500 years ago. Keqing may not have yet known this, but she had found a clue right before her eyes. That humans like her can procreate with such beasts. Take it into rationality; procreation could only take place if thereof the same species.

Story:
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Keqing had resigned herself to the fact that she might never leave the hilichurl camp. However, she developed a strange bond with her captors during her captivity. They had begun to trust her and even started to care for her well-being.

Eventually, Keqing discovered that she was pregnant. She was both terrified and excited by the news. The hilichurls were surprised by her condition, but they were also fascinated. They had never seen a human give birth before.

When the time came, Keqing gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The hilichurls were amazed by the tiny half-human half-hilichurl child and were immediately taken by him. They began to treat Keqing with even more respect and kindness as if she were the tribe's mother.

As the days passed, Keqing found herself growing attached to the hilichurls and her son. She began to learn their ways and even taught them some of her own knowledge. She became a respected member of the tribe and was even given a name in their language. (Tomo Ya Unu Shato = Unique human who could give life.)

Years went by, and Keqing's son grew up among the hilichurls. He was loved by all and treated as one of their own. Keqing had found a new home and family among the creatures that had once held her captive.
