After the dissapontment that was for me KOF 2001 and the short-time interesting KOF 2002, I was finally starting to lose interest in the KOF franchise. That and by that year (2003) arcade machines were starting to dissapear. Also, I was so busy in my last year of high school, and finally, in my free time, I discovered the wonders of emulators and I started to playing those games for consoles I never had, like the nintendo ones, discovering new and interesting franchises that boosted even more my life as a geeky ero-artist. So yeah, I completly forgot that year that KOF existed.

With 2003 over and I finally ending my horrible high school life, I asked my mother for a free year before entering university. She agreed with the condition of taking an english course to improve my language back then. So I started 2004 with a 3 months English course. Days went by and besides improving my english language there wasn't anymore interesting in my life... until one day that I discovered that in front of the academy I was going there was a pharmacy with a brand new arcade machine full of kids and teens, and when I was checking what was the fuzz about, I noticed that it was KOF 2003. "Oh, right!" - I said to myself - "I abosolutely forgot about that... oh well, better late than never". So I bought one credit to try the game. As always, I wasn't expecting to play a lot due to my suckiness in arcade machines and then, for some reason, I spent 2 HOURS with that only credit beating the living sh*t of anyone who challenged me. I was like "Umm... What the hell just happened?"

Since that day and for the rest of my time in the english academy, it became a routine for me going to the farmacy after classes, buying a single credit and spending the rest of the afternoon completing the story mode with each team and beating everyone who dared to challenge me. Did I become magically good at arcade games during the year I forgot about them? Well, nope. The game changed so much its gameplay that even for dummies like me conecting combos became way easier.

KOF 2003 was an incredible game and it was the last arcade machine that I played in my life. A pretty kick-ass way to go (funny trivia: The only other arcade machine where I was ridiculously good and nobody could beat me was Garou Mark of the Wolves). However, this game didn't reignited my deep love for the franchise and after I finished my english course, I once more forgot about the franchise and I focused my atention in other games for almost a year and a half.

^^ Hope you like it.
