Long, Long Time

AKA the Bill and Frank episode.

How does one make a connection during the end of the world? When others are merely surviving, how do you fully live?

And when you are told that a story will tear your heart out, does it? Or does the expectation change the experience?

I'm ready with a bottle of wine and a cozy blanket. If you're synced up, let's go!

I've been looking forward to you getting to this one for a while. As it's not only my favorite episode of the series, but one of my favorite episodes of anything ever, I'm going to sit down and watch the whole thing with you today. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. Personally, I think this is a masterpiece of television. The writing, the acting, the dialogue, the cinematography... everything is just perfect. Well, ok, except for one thing - as someone who lives in the greater Boston area, I can assure you that 10 miles west of Boston does NOT look anything like that. EDIT: after the episode - 100% agree that this one lingers (for a long long time, lol). And sure, some storytellers may have gone for the shock, but that would have diminished the episode. It would have been an unnecessary distraction from what was otherwise a simple beautiful story, and it would have taken away from the nuanced handling of some pretty weighty topics.
