Comments

dieselbeast

Is this my punishment for dmng y'all on IG lmao so I can stop getting my hopes up lol you know what film I'm talking about lol I don't even want to say the name anymore at this point 😂😭😂😭😂 still love yall peeps 🙏I wouldn't say anything honestly but y'all keep saying this week this week since Jan 9th lol I'm annoyed with myself lol 😂🤦

Luis Martell

These godzilla films are so bad... really wish you wouldn't waste your time with them... the only one worth watching is "godzilla minus one" ... these other ones are trash

Mike

Y'all doing the monsterverse now? Sweet! I do really enjoy Legendarys take on big G, I actually love the 98 version, but legendary has embraced the absurdity in a special way and created something very immersive and fun.

Mike

Should you decide to continue id recommend Peter Jackson's Kong movie as an aside. Skull island and GvK are extremely fun movies, but the original Kong concept was quite different and very layered. Jackson made a great movie that was a faithful remake of the 1933 classic. He was never meant to be a "Kaiju" really. However it's still fun as hell to watch him go WWE on Godzilla.

Luis Martell

These american godzilla films are garbage ... the characters are stupid, we never care about them or what happens to them and the special effects are uninspired ... the original japanese godzilla is a masterpiece... the newer "shin godzilla" is cool... and the newest "Godzilla minus one" is amazing! But why are they wasting their time on this crap? And yes... this is just my opinion... like everything else written here or anywhere on the internet... it's just opinions. And all art is subjective. That being said, there are very obvious standards of quality that anyone can recognize .... if you love this movie... that's great! But if this channel keeps reacting to this kind of thing it's totally not worth my time. My time. My opinion. I hope you can recognize and respect that.

Luis Martell

Yeah... I guess I'm on the wrong channel/patreon thing... I saw reactions to "society of the snow" , "pulp fiction" "kill bill" "full metal jacket" "fight club" "seven" ... but these... mmmm... yeah... no. Hopefully you'll keep reacting to that other kind of stuff, because this is just silly... I did NOT watch this along with you guys but I did skip to the end to hear your comments and so it seems to me that you liked this film a lot more than lets say.... "Full metal jacket" ... and that's totally fine, everyone has different tastes and think differently but I liked how honest the review for "FMJ" was ... especially with the issues you had with it... but then saying that the human element on this film were great... I'm like... what? Sure, Cranston is an amazing actor... but oh man... "Godzilla minus one" has great human elements... this is just... this is just crap guys, c'mon!!! and yes, before anyone else gets annoyed and offended... this is just my opinion. But I gotta say I'm disappointed... I thought you guys "got it" ... I overestimated you... but that's my bad... I'm just in the wrong channel... I guess I'm just not your audience... :(

TheMediaKnights

You have the right to have your own opinion about the film. And we have the right to have ours. We are not comparing this film to Full Metal Jacket or any of the amazing classics we've watched. What you lack to understand is that we see films for what they are. If they are popcorn flicks our assessments are made based on what the film was able to provide. If it was entertaining then great! If it had more to offer even better. But you'll very rarely hear us talk 100% negatively towards any film. Why? Because we have deep respect for everybody that works in this industry in front of the camera and behind and we always try to communicate what we loved, what we liked and the things that didn't work for us. Even films we don't like have something positive to say about it. In terms of this film specifically we thought the human element (Aaron Taylor and Bryan Cranston specifically) were handled in a way that kept the plot moving forward while keeping it engaging. Elizabeth Olsen's character not so much as she was just there to provide a goal for our lead. But as far as monster movies go we enjoyed the human element in this far more than the 1998 iteration. We love films and the process that goes into making them, regardless if they are popcorn flicks or just fun to watch. Like I said you have a right to like what you like and everybody in this community has the right to like/request and enjoy these films alongisde us. Just because a film is not of your liking does not mean you get to go off on other members who do enjoy it. That being said we absolutely wholeheartedly agree with the fact that you are in the wrong patreon.

TheMediaKnights

I believe Denise has watched this one! She's a huge King Kong fan. I don't know if we'll cover it soon but it's been a film I've been curious about for the longest time.

TheMediaKnights

Can't wait to see the rest of the Legendary films! Sometimes embracing the fun is the way to go. We'll see with the other two!

dieselbeast

This and the The Godfather were the only two films I was really wanting y'all to react to, I still enjoy y'all's other reactions no question, but no more insisting on my part after this 🙏 y'all have been good to me 🙏

Luis Martell

I went off on other members? No. I don't know why you would say that... and obviously I can recognize the difference between an arthouse film and a summer blockbuster ... I also enjoy both... but thank you. I appreciate you telling me in advance that you will continue reacting to these "popcorn flicks" so I can cancel my subscription. And like I've said in other comments... I think you guys are great... intelligent and insightful.. your production quality is amazing and the way you sync up films to watch along is suuuuper cool... It's my bad for having expectations... I was like "holy shit, this channel is amazing! These guys are well versed and smart and haven't seen a lot of great classics! This is going amazing" and then I was disappointed because of my own expectations... and yes... I trashed the film... but I never trashed any member here or were in any way disrespectful... if my opinions offended people that was not my intention and I apologize for that... but I won't apologize for hating this film and hating the current state of hollywood which in my opinion is killing cinema... that is all. I wish you guys the best of luck and success. Seriously.. you guys rock! But then again...

Mike

Kong skull island is next in the series. I think it's actually the best movie in the series and works well as a stand alone film. She'll really enjoy it if she likes Kong. I look forward to taking the ride with yall

MONSTERVERSE!

danzogonzo

TOMBSTONE! OPEN RANGE! 3:10 TO YUMA! HOSTILES! NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN! UNFORGIVEN! THE REVENANT! THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS! KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON! THE ASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD! I know these movies have nothing to do with Godzilla or big scary monsters but I went on a rampage with my brother about Tombstone and I wanted to recommend it to you! Then we started arguing about great western movies and he suggested you guys could do a "Western Wednesday" because there are so many amazing western movies 🤣 anyway, thank you guys and I promise... You two will not be disappointed with any of my recommendations 😘😘😘

I am glad they moved away from the blue bawling in 'Kong: Skull Island' 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' and 'Godzilla VS Kong.' I do agree with you guys. I love this monster verse storyline and monster designs better than Gozilla (1998). I am eagerd for you guys to see the rest of this monster verse movies.

Mister Lou

YES! I can-not WAIT to continue this journey with you guys throughout this franchise! Forgive me, I'm still sorta new to your channel, have you already seen or reacted to Stranger things?

Mister Lou

52:30 "we seem to have found your Russian Sub!" ...and it seems to be covered in Sea-men, like substance!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that geeked out over this film. This will forever be in my top 5 films for a multitude of reasons. One of them being ITS GODZILLA! Others being the visuals, the score. The cast. One thing that truly stands out to me with this film compared to many others or the previous Godzilla movie. They made the military competent. I love to see it. In the 1998 Godzilla they made the Army look so incompetent, from destroying many buildings, consistently trying to kill Godzilla even though their weapons did nothing. Where as this film, you had a Rear Admiral who made sure he was up to speed on Monarch's research. Who is willing to place the lives of innocent above the secrecy and do what it takes to prevent collateral damage. Even going as far as to sacrifice the lives of ground forces under his command to try and lure the MUTOs away from population centers. Unlike the 1998 counterpart where they do the stereotypical "Keep shooting til we can kill it" method. And the scene where Dr. Serizawa shows the Admiral his father's watch from Hiroshima, you can see the conflict in his eyes that he would rather find any other solution than to use WMDs. Of course Dr. Serizawa suggests letting Godzilla fight them, but he initially dismisses the idea because 1. As a Commanding Officer, you can't place your bets into ANOTHER giant monster and hope for the best. 2. Even if he initially agreed, chances are his superiors would think he's lost it and replace him as the Battlespace Commander. Only when he's left with no other options does he take Serizawa's advice to heart and withdraws all combat personnel "Minus the HALO insertion team" Another scene that caught my attention, whether it was intentional on Hollywood's part or not. The interaction between the Air Force Master Sgt and Ford when they're loading the Minuteman Missiles on the train. Even though Ford is a Lieutenant, therefore a higher rank, he is being told negative for his request to join them on the train. It's a relatable moment for people that have served because. 1. Master Sgt has more time in service and probably double the experience Ford has and doesn't want a young blood officer taking charge. 2. This is the Master Sgt's operation and Ford hasn't been cleared for the Op, therefore its a no go on his request. 3. Only when Ford says his family is in San Fran does the Master Sgt relent and you can see the subtle expression written on his face. That "Shit, alright its a personal reason, I'm probably gonna get torn a new one if higher finds out, but I'd hope someone would do the same for me if I was in his shoes." Also to answer your question, yes "Mike" is a military term for Minute "Klick" is kilometer I'll gladly help with the military terminology in the future if questions arise. Loved the reaction once again. Fanboy moment is over for me. I look forward to more reactions as always. Take care.

Matthias Fendl

Hey guys, this was WAY more entertaining than Godzilla 1998 😂 😄 Thank You!

Neil Todd

Since you lost this gentleman's sub create another tier up and I'll double my sub to make up for his loss :) I loved your reaction to this and I'm so glad I found you guys. Your banter and talks at the end are chefs kiss. Keep up the good work :)

I'll understand if you go to Kong Skull Island & Godzilla King Of The Monsters/Vs Kong after this, but I think it would be cool if you made a stop to check out SHIN GODZILLA. It, and the recent GODZILLA MINUS ONE are the only 2 Godzilla movies, aside from the original, that feel like they're doing more than just being popcorn entertainment.

TheMediaKnights

Those 2 are coming! I'm literally checking everyday for news on Minus One. I need it out ASAP! Shin is also coming and pretty soon. We're gonna get through these fairly quickly!

TheMediaKnights

Yes! Agreed with everything you said. The way the handled the military aspect in 1998 was a huge turnoff for both of us. The film is still fun and definitely has it's moments but a lot of the writing wasn't planned or though through. This film also has it's issues absolutely! But at least the make the military more competent (they also have a soul) and our lead is well...yeah he's there to move the plot forward but at least his backstory was dramatic as hell. Which we didn't expect from a Kaiju film. Thank you for answering with the military terminology! Always fun to learn something from you guys!

WhiteWolf

Same here, Sign me up for the Dragon Slayer Tier. :-) P.s I'm the opposite, I mostly only watch the popcorn flicks now. Life is dark and miserable enough sometimes these days, The last thing some people should do is watch a really sad movie. I love your content, I'll mostly be a silent member. As i'm not that great at grammar.

TheMediaKnights

Can't wait to watch the rest! We loved the design! It's what I expected from a modern take on the big lizard!

TheMediaKnights

We are up to date with Stranger Things! But we'll definitely do reactions to ST5 when that comes out!

danzogonzo

Monsterverse movies are completely awesome. I'm ready! 🤘😎🍿

danzogonzo

Shin Godzilla is insane and insanely GREAT!, yes. Godzilla Minus One was fucking amazing 🫡... I have one gripe and PLEASE don't hate me for it 😫 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫 I was hoping that he would use his arms/hands more... I know it's classic Godzilla but I thought it would be a twist on the current Monsterverse Godzilla movies. The human aspect of Godzilla Minus One kills it though. Media Knights is still in the early stages but they are growing quickly, I think 🤷... There are 10,000 reactions, I'm still waiting for 🤞 Thanks for hearing me out bud 🫡💯
