The Meg Full Length Movie Reaction - Watch Along

Here's an unpopular opinion: "The Meg" and "Deep Blue Sea" are both superior to "Jaws" as movies. Now to be clear, I am not saying "Jaws" is a bad movie. It's a very good movie. But I like the more complex stories and the interesting characters (and the campiness) of these more tongue in cheek, popcorn shark movies. "Jaws" Doesn't actually have a story beyond shark kills some people, men go hunt shark. At least these less realistic shark movies have some interesting ideas and premises in them. And let's be real, only the most biased of CGI haters can say that Bruce the Shark from "Jaws" actually looks more realistic than the sharks in this movie ("Deep Blue Sea" is a different story). The CGI in most of this movie is very good. Bruce looks like a submarine with a shark skin over it. It has no movement in the water that even resembles a real shark. I love shark movies. I must have seen the majority of shark movies that have ever been made, and we have tons of them in our digital collection just for my benefit. Even I couldn't watch the "Sharknado" movies beyond the first, but if you ever get the urge to watch another shark movie or one peripherally related to a shark attack, I have a couple of suggestions: ~ "The Shallows" ~ "Open Water" (kind of a love it or hate it movie, not sure it would do well on the channel) ~ "47 Meters Down: Uncaged" (is technically the second movie in a series, but the plots, characters, and events are completely unrelated. This one is ridiculous, but entertaining) ~ "Soul Surfer" (based on a true story. Sharks are not central to the story, but Bethany Hamilton's story is amazing, she is an amazing person, and so is the movie) Also, while it's not about sharks at all, "Lake Placid" is a fun movie, and without spoilers all I can say is that a certain actress plays her most fun role ever (imo)
