July 2022 Highres Illustration - Misa (Patreon)

Misa-chan is complete!!!⭐ I had fun working on her!! I had my doubts up until I added the second layer of lineart (after everything is painted).

General musings....:

These are also my favorite colours (lavender) so I enjoyed working on that. The dark blue border was a bit of an afterthought, which is why it came out so splotchy - I had to paint ink on top of gouache which doesn't sit very well. Ink is meant to seep directly into the paper, but it just sits on top of dry gouache like a dry pool of liquid.

I had a really tough time with the leather jacket. I wanted it to be more shiny/striking than it appeared to be. I only started using the proper reference images halfway through but at that point I think it was too late.

The chocolate - I wanted to add more chocolate, but every time I see a melted chocolate/strawberry/valentine's theme image all I can think of is poo. 😂😂😂😂 So I only went with the small bit of melted choco on the top right.

Her face is pretty different than what I normally do, I think a lot of people will like it, but it doesn't feel very "me". But I feel like I learned a couple things drawing in this style.

-Acryla gouache for background
-Rohrer & klinger indigo ink for bg and ink touch up
