Colouring Book Test Previews (Patreon)
Content
It's official, all of my colouring book tests are done! 🤩
As mentioned before, this Colouring Book will be printed single-sided on felt-textured cardstock. It almost looks like watercolour paper... So naturally, I had to test it out with a variety of mediums to see how it would take!
1. Coloured pencils
I don't use coloured pencils often do the colouring isn't great lol, but the pencils went on these paper like a charm! The only thing is that since the paper is textured, you have to go over it a couple times to fill it in fully. But since the paper stock is completely uncoated, graphite can be applied no problem. 5/5
2. Watercolours
I hoped watercolours would work a little better on this paper. But the finished result isn't bad!
The nicest thing about this is there is no bleed at all when applying water to the lineart.
However, one thing I did notice is that the colours do change after they're applied. I originally used an orange/flesh hue for the cheeks, but they dried to be a bright pink... However, this may be due more to the nature of the liquid watercolours I used, rather than the paper.
Also, there is no bleed through the paper, which is nice! 3/5
3. Copic markers
The way this turned out was a pleasant surprise! All the colours I used blended beautifully, there are no streaks, and the colours dried properly.
The only thing is that the ink bled a little bit, but that might be due to the extremely small areas I was trying to fill in. As well, the marker does bleed through the back of the page. 4/5
I am aiming to open pre-orders for this within the first week of November! Thanks for all your support and encouragement with this project*_*
