An after-the-fact collection of some of the process for these pictures! Less of a preview (since the pictures are already out), more to showcase a bit more of how I made some of these effects, since I'm especially happy with the techniques I ended up using for part 4. (Look away now if you don't want to pull back the curtain too much!)

Starting in reverse order here, there isn't very much worth showing behind the scenes with the part 5 images, other than a peek at where the glow effects come from :D I somewhat unnecessarily made a shell of Elise's figure to apply the glow to for the middle panel (in which there's a glow emitting from Bunny's cupped hands), partly because this is actually an experiment I'd started well earlier, with the first image in this set; I didn't know yet when starting this whole sequence if I'd be able to properly illustrate "magically retrieving a swallowed prey", so I tested out a few options first, including trying to make the glowing silhouette of an entire figure, which ended up not being needed but I left it in the scene all the same. A simple glowing orb would have had the same effect :D
You can see this being done more simply for the first panel, where it's just a few primitive planes with a soft circle map applied to them, positioned over Bunny's stomach and a couple extras on her fingers just for a little extra depth.

And then there's the swallow from part 4! This admittedly looks the most cursed with the curtain pulled back, but I'm proud of the effect so I'm showing it anyway. The "throat" is modeled in Blender, lots of sculpting to get that fleshy, squishy, form-fitted look around Elise's figure again; I took a page from some of the many cutaways I see in other artists' works, particularly Karbo, where rather than trying for a fully realistic X-ray, it's more stylized in how it shows the esophagus. It did take some work to achieve the look I was after - my simple modeled prop could have been wider, and I ended up painting in around the sides - but overall, I'm happy with the results for an image I've never properly attempted to do before!
Ultimately, I feel like cutaway views like this are tricky to do in 3D styles, since it's a bit of conflict between 3D trying to look realistic and the cutaway being more definitely stylized for the sake of fantasy. But hey, it's doable.

There might be a part 6/extra later on, I'm not 100% decided yet. I intend to wrap up most of this with a more detailed blurb rather than entirely visually, since it's otherwise a bit tough to put a visual conclusion to a sequence like this. But that'll have to come later; I'll be posting another personal update shortly as well, just some notes on my current/future plans and approach for the rest of my work, since there's been a lot of things shifting around!
