Belated updates - February/March (Patreon)

Whew.

TL;DR: I've been Busy for the past month-ish, and there's still some health and life stuff that I need to get tackled, but art should be resuming soon!

The past month has been a hectic one, to say the least. I'm writing this up with the sounds of chainsaws and heavy equipment outside my house; giant, dead oak tree in the front yard is finally going, and it's a monster crew with a huge crane and everything to get rid of it. Luckily I wasn't the one having to make all the plans for that, but it's been a couple months of planning and anticipating that whole project.

And that's just half of today. The other half comes in the afternoon, dumb luck lined up my appointment with an oral surgeon on the same day; going in for a consultation for my messed up wisdom teeth (and maybe they come out in the same day, I'm bracing for it but I have no idea what the process will be). This I have been the one making the plans for, figuring out insurance, finding an oral surgeon after putting it off for... well a couple years now if I'm honest, but I haven't exactly been excited to get it done. They need to go, though. I've got jaw and neck pain and it's very likely the wisdom teeth have been a big contribution to that.

Last week was me flipping my bedroom-slash-workspace upside down to make room for plumbers to come in, lucky me that the access panel for the shower is behind my dresser and bed so they all needed to be moved. New office chair was another project, though much more pleasant; my back pain is already doing a bit better now that I'm out of that nice-but-stupid gaming chair I've had for years. I've been taking driving lessons as well, working towards getting myself some more independence after a bunch of years of going "well I work from home, I don't need to drive anywhere".

I'll stop myself before rambling on too much further (plus I've forgotten half the other stuff that's been happening all this year), but what I'm trying to say is: I've been busy! And not with fun stuff like I wish I was. ^^; It's been difficult to focus on anything, feels like the new year is only just now starting to hit and with it, a whole bunch of previously unresolved stuff is screaming "resolve me!" until I give it attention, attention I haven't had a lot of for a while.

But it feels nice to be checking stuff off the list.

With any luck, this is the last of the big days. I've got art projects sitting and waiting for me to have just one good free day to finish them up, lots more cleanup I'd love to do; I'd like to expand my website a bit, I've got that new prints shop I want to continue growing, lots of stuff to come for you all! I just need a bit more time to actually be able to do those things, and stuff like wisdom teeth might be a while longer, but this to me feels like the last of the Big Days and I'm eager to move on to a hopefully clearer way ahead. ^^

UPDATE: wisdom teeth appointment is now in April, so there's still some waiting to be done, but I've got a month to (hopefully) not worry about it, and with any luck there will be less jaw pain once it's done!
