Hello everyone! It's the final countdown for 2016! Can't wait for this year to be over.

Just a quick update, I'm focusing right now on finishing up this last batch of commissions, so there's probably only going to be a few WIPs to show from that. I'm eager to pick up on some bigger projects shortly afterwards, though.

So, on to the big question! When you're looking at artwork such as my own, what has the biggest appeal to you?

Do you like purely indulgent imagery? A mawshot for example, or a view of tiny prey being swallowed; something that shows plenty of detail but doesn't convey much of a backstory.
Or do you like to see depth and plot? An example might be a scene of a character going about their day-to-day life, or maybe a predator cornering their prey;  scenes that tell more of a story, but perhaps don't show quite as much up-close detail.

Now of course, I imagine for a lot of people, both have their appeal. I definitely enjoy both. But if you had to pick between the two - an image that shows a lot of detail, or tells more of a story - which do you think you would lean towards, what is more interesting/exciting to you?

What I'm trying to do is gauge what others enjoy from me, what balance to strike between the two. I'm going to keep doing both to the best of my ability, but it would be nice to know if people would like to see more things like mawshots and POVs, or more little views into my character's lives and world.

I'd love to hear your opinions, so comment away, message me privately, whatever's most comfortable for you!

I would rather have a balance of "In Depth" Images and Story Images. If I have to pick, though, I think I would prefer "More Details" (like prey being swallowed) and even some POV (so I can imagine that I am in that situation). Either way, you do great work and I'm sure all of us would be happy either way you decide to go. ;)

I am always in favor of more depth and plot. Imagery is great but its whats going on in a pic that really makes it memorable.

I personally prefer more details.

I'll be doing plenty of both, of course! I just wanted to try and gauge where people's interests might lie more, since I have a bad habit of talking myself out of projects for being too complex or too simplistic. (seems that most people are interested in a balance too!)

Gotcha, thanks for the feedback! Maybe one of these days I can work my way up to doing comics, so there'll be even more room for detailed imagery put together in a way that tells more story. :D
