Hello, all! Apologies for the lack of activity or news lately, things have been hectic this month. I have plenty of news to share now, though! I'll try to break it down into sections, so it's easier to skim through.

October's sponsored project

First things first, we're overdue for another bi-monthly funded piece, so I'd like to get on that ASAP. I still need to update my reward tiers and milestone goals, but to briefly sum things up, since things have been short of the $50 goal for monthly pictures, what I've been doing is bi-monthly pieces instead; one funded project every two months, with suggestions/requests and occasional votes helping to decide what gets worked on.

Since it's October, a Halloween theme seems only fitting. Usually I'd do a holiday-themed piece regardless - something relatively small - but since we're due for another funded piece, I'm wondering if maybe you'd all like to see a bit more upon the theme? I have a slightly larger idea in mind at the moment - a scene of one of the Paerans indulging in some candies/chocolates, one or two shrunken prey having been tossed in with the rest of the treats - but if people are interested in other pieces, I'm all ears!

Scene ideas? Costumes for some of my characters? Let me know in the comments, I think I'd like to experiment with doing a few smaller requested pieces this month rather than the usual one big piece that takes forever.

Other projects

I've got a few personal projects in the works as well, though some are taking a back seat while I work through more pressing concerns. You can look forward to seeing some progress shots of those in the future, however. Biggest at the moment is a scene of giantess-Paeran Yasa and her human friend Josie, having some fun little interactions with some icecream (though probably not in the way you might be thinking).

Smaller projects are mostly character designs and some model updates, as well as little experiments with different art styles. I'll try to make a post about those sometime later; maybe there's more interest in some of those projects then I would have guessed, I'd love to put a little more priority on one of those if there's some excitement for them.

Commissions opening

Not yet, but soon! As the year is coming to a close, and plans are already being made for next year, I'm finding myself in need of a lot more funds then I've got available. SizeCon 2017 is set for July of next year, and will be a two-day convention this time (July 29-30), so that's going to incur some more costs for me to attend! I'm also considering having some prints of my work made, and that will take a small investment to get started as well. Add onto that, I need general computer upgrades, a new tablet, probably a new desk to go with it all... well, you get the picture.

Right! In any case, I'm going to need to finish up some of this month's projects first, but most likely those commission slots will be opening up shortly afterwards, if all goes well. It's an unofficial perk just yet, but Patreon supporters will get first go at reserving slots; I'll still be selecting projects based on personal preference, but having a head-start will of course reduce the likelihood of slots getting filled before you get a chance at them!

----

TL;DR:

  • Commissions will be opening again; not yet, but soon! Patreons get in early.
  • Lots of personal projects in the works, look forward to seeing more peeks at those here (some will be public, some will be patron-only posts).
  • October's project is funded, considering a Halloween-themed month! Comment with any suggestions or requests (scenes, character costumes, etc), smaller ones might get picked up throughout the rest of the month.

Hilgy

A funny scene would be someone dressing up as a cat for Halloween, and one of the actual cat-girls is just not having it. Another might be having one of the ladies holding tinies who dressed up as candy. Those poor fools.

The first idea is cute! Maybe a simple scene of Teena + one of my human characters, with Teena looking confused by a set of cat-ears on a hairband. I suspect candy costumes might be a little tough to put together in Paeratopa, and tricky to make look good in general... I like the idea of food-based costumes backfiring though. Maybe there's something more to take from that, later on.
