Blast those two killer theme songs, because it's our monthly time warp back to sexy, sunny, 1990's Los Angeles on MELR0210

First up on Beverly Hills, 90210, it's the strangely-titled episode, "Meeting Mr. Pony." Originally airing April 2, 1992, this episode features Dylan and Brandon playing hacky sack with garbage, Nat making bank off the stressed-out minds of teenagers, Dylan really gambling on that at-home hook-up, Steve Sanders possibly going downtown on himself, and Brenda getting robbed at gunpoint!

Then up the road on Melrose Place, it's the perfectly timed (?) Thanksgiving episode, Cold Turkey! First airing the day before Thanksgiving on November 24, 1993, this episode has Jake getting picked up by the F.B.I., Amanda hosting a really twisted Thanksgiving dinner with Daddy and several people who hate her, Billy giving Alison a well-deserved ultimatum about Billionaire Steve, Sydney still being hounded by the Hollywood Madam, and Kimberly's mother coming from Ohio to take her comatose daughter away from that awful, awful Michael!

MELR0210 is a WHM podcast where the guys blissfully stroll through the Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place timelines. The TV episodes covered will run in broadcast order, but they may skip duller 'sodes in order to keep the focus on the nitty, the gritty, and the downright bizarre. Thanks so much for continuing to support the WHM Patreon!

Andrew-- You are correct; that is what "I saw The Devil" is about and it is absolutely fantastic.

It warms my heart that y'all hate Brandon as much as I do

You guys mentioned the possibility of seeing James Eckhouse in a flashback wig... there's an episode in season 4 where they show still photos of Jim and Cindy's wedding, and, "my, GOD" is all I'll say on that.

Hope Eric is feeling better.

Cool episode, although I do have to take exception with the horse thing from 90210 episode. When I was a kid living in Texas, my family had horses, and I most certainly was NOT a little rich boy. I also take issue with the way Sydney is being written. It's all over the place. I can't wait until we get to the scheming sexpot I know and love. Maybe Andrew can learn to appreciate her more when she's being written more consistently.

Easily the funniest line of the episode is when Nat says “I should have instant hose security cameras.” And one of the cops fires back so matter-of-factly “What might have helped is if the door had been locked”
