On this month's Animation Damnation, the guys are chatting about the totally dreadful animated "please still love me, adoring public!" attempt, Little Ellen! The two tiny episodes in question, "Best Laid Plans" and "NOLA Confidential," which originally aired on September 13, 2021 and October 14, 2021 respectively, feature a pint-sized version of America's favorite daytime TV host/absolute nightmare boss, Ellen DeGeneres in a series of "fun" situations (set in the mid-80s?), like searching for her (boozehound, probably) grandma's car keys, attending a New Orleans music and food festival, throwing up on a carnival ride, guesting on stage with a famous blues musician, watching gritty crime shows late at night, and bothering all the neighbors as they try to figure out who vandalized their front lawn! PLUS: Is everyone seeing those talking gnomes or just the kids?

Thanks so much for being so awesome and supporting We Hate Movies on Patreon! Please be sure to spread the word! Your support is what keeps this train moving!

Oh, man, this Ellen cartoon is horrible! 😵‍💫

Who's watching this show? The soccer moms who still believe "Ellen couldn't have done those nasty things, because she's so nice on TV!"

Robert Denby

It makes a lot more sense in looking up that this show was announced in summer 2019, a few months before her hanging out with Bush came out, and a full year before the toxic workplace stuff broke. It was already in production, and Warner decided to finish the show rather than cut their losses. COVID may have delayed it further, or they shelved it til the news died down.

In defense of shows that start with bathroom shenanigans: Scrubs.

Erin Hardy

20-FUCKING-21. I assumed this was a Saturday morning cartoon that aired twice in 1995 or something.

This aired in WHAT year?!!?!?

regularspecial1 .

little known fact: the "stats for nerds" option when you right click a youtube video also gives an accurate breakdown of how many viewers were racist or perverts

Gangster Squad is either unwatchable or a stay tuned. You decide.

I don't think that's as strong of a defense as you think it is. I watched it while my wife was in med school so I have a soft spot for it...but it's a pretty bad show
