On this month's AD, the guys are chatting about two shorts from the DC Showcase, "Green Arrow" and "Jonah Hex." Originally dropped back in 2010, these shorts feature our heroes doing the things you love to see them do: Green Arrow messes around at the airport and Jonah Hex... well, he rides a horse and kills some folks? But hey, this Hex short is better than that Hex movie! PLUS: Getting harassed by sad Arrow fans on Twitter? It happened!

There was a Jonah Hex episode of the classic Batman: TAS that is worth checking out as well.

I don’t know if Chris intended to out himself as a closet pedophile with that joke about jacking it to Hunter x Hunter, but that’s how the joke lands.

The Catwoman showcase contains the most embarrassing 10 minutes of fan service you'll ever see

I had my thumbs ready to bring up the Green Arrow prison movie. I dunno, sounds like a cool concept and a way to put in lots of villains. If they want to bring him into whatever the DCCU is going to be now maybe have him bring broken out by a fellow hero to help fight and just do a 5-10 scene of him in the supermax.

These shorts were extras on the DC animated movie releases. Th see are separate from th DC animated tv shows, but some of the movies are set in that universe. The first one was The Death of Superman from 07. They are a mixed bag, much like the movies. Also, they are not really meant for kids, they just happen to be animated. The live action movies from Marvel are more family friendly, but comic books and their animated counterparts have trended more mature for a while now.

I was going to say. There are plenty of fan service series to pick from in anime that would fit what he was going for, but picking Hunter Hunter is like picking Avatar the last Airbender.

I used to think that the DC animation adaptations were going to be my resource for catching up on a thousand issues of continuity without the time investment. Ended up just being kind of forgettable. Tried with the New 52 Batman run and dug the court of owls stuff but also just kind of forgettable.

I think maybe Steve judged Stephen Amell having only seen a little of his work. Amell is actually pretty good, and he does a perfectly fine job even when he doesn't have the best material (and the CW writing staff does not seem to provide much strong and well-written material)(eta: not often enough, at least). He doesn't always seem great at the start of Season 1 of Arrow, you can see he often stands stock still as if he was at attention in the military, with his arms at his side. Supposedly, this is bc he worked out so much for the role, he was in pain. He acts stiff partly bc he literally can't move his arms much. On social media, he comes off as positive, supportive, funny, and not egotistical at all. I hope Steve gets to give him a second chance some time.

Also knowing how Twitter's algorithim is designed to create conflict, I bet it pushed Steve's tweet at him, whether or not it had a tag.
