On the landmark 50th (!!!!) episode of The Nexus the gang is talking about a classic episode of TOS and a incredibly silly episode of TNG!

First over on TOS it's the beloved episode, "The Trouble with Tribbles"! Originally airing December 29th, 1967, this episode features Kirk dressing down a Federation suit, Scotty and Chekov getting in a bar fight, and of course, Cyrano Jones peddling Tribbles!

Then over on TNG, it's the outrageously dumb "Manhunt." Originally airing June 17th, 1989, this episode features Troi's mother trying to sleep with Picard, Picard hiding in the holodeck pretending to be good old Dixon Hill, and a bunch of fish aliens frozen in sick bay!

It's totally wild that this is the FIFTIETH episode of our Star Trek adventure and we thank you all so much for continuing to join us on this ride!

WHM is donating 100% of our 2020 merch income to causes  fighting for racial justice. For more information on how you can pitch  in, head over to our website.

The Nexus is a We Hate Movies podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek series at the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support this weird thing known as WHM! We couldn't do it without you!

Paul

Yeah, Farty’s back!

I suspect next Listener request month you guys are getting a lot of requests for the DS9 tribble episode.

Paul

Why is Fleetwood Mac playing in the background during your TNG talk?

Ray

I was just wondering that same thing Paul

Ray

It's really distracting lol. At least it's only one song

Aaron Lange

Im listen along like where is this music coming from? Am I losing my mind? 😂

Happy Birthtime!

It’s because one of the fish guys is played by Mick Fleetwood. Yes, really. I guess they just needed a tall person and he was available

QB

Exactly - clever use of that music since it wasn't mentioned in the episode.

FYI for those craving more tribbles, CBS All Access did a bunch of shorts related to Discovery and Picard called Short Trek, and there is a really funny one called The Trouble With Edward. It features H. Jon Benjamin as the Starfleet officer who discovers tribbles.

Cassandra Wladyslava

This is so weird. I just found my one of my old stuffed Popples dolls (Puffball) and then they get brought up on the show. XD What’s next? Fraggle Rock? Rainbow Bright?

Camille Faucheux

Rightfully so TBH, that's the one where Bashir almost tries to screw his great grandmother on purpose.
