On this month's jaunt through The Nexus, the gang is chatting about two outrageous episodes of Trek—

First on TOS, it's the stab-happy episode, "Wolf in the Fold"! Originally airing December 22, 1967, this episode is all about Scotty being accused of murdering multiple women! Was this episode written by Agatha Christie? Were Kirk and Bones going sex shopping? And what's that? Jack the Ripper? Oooooo-kay!

Then, over on TNG the stars go green as the Enterprise picks up some delightful Irish-esque individuals in "Up the Long Ladder"! Originally airing May 20, 1989, this episode has Chief O'Brien beaming aboard literal farm animals, Riker getting down and dirty with the farmer's daughter, and a clone-related left turn you will not see coming!

PLUS: More pissed of Picard than you can shake a stick at!

The Nexus is a We Hate Movies podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek series at the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support this weird thing known as WHM! We couldn't do it without you!

I like Melrose90210 but maybe just more nexus or tng or pat stew stuff?

Cray Z

You can't have it all, brah! (Also according to my relative, they research better for Melrose90210 than for Nexus)

Elliott Tipton

No need to speculate shade! I just love the gems. I stole picard posters from bus stops in Toronto just because I loved watching and listening to both.

How vague is it to say "my relative" how about you bring that cheat code tomorrow!

Maggie0401

I am totally convinced that TOS is that kid at school you shouldn't be making fun of.

Mike Blair

I'm from Aberdeen and I can assure you its not the smallest city in Scotland. It is in the moon though.

Did I hear a Forged In Fire reference? XD Also, the line is “It will KEAL.” It means “Keep Everyone ALive”. Googled it after thinking “That dude says ‘kill’ in a really odd way.” Lol.

Comrade Trash Panda

Can you guys please provide time stamps for when TNG begins?

Cray Z

They're consistently close to 50/50, with something like a 65/35 split if one ep is notably less engaging. I like a lot of their TOS commentary, but if I'm ever in desperate need of TNG hilarity, I take a random stab along those lines.

Cray Z

Sorry, sorry, that is fair. I didn't listen to the Picard eps bc it has Alex Kurtzman, so I chose to "make it no." I haven't listened to Melrose9, I think it would make me feel sad to remember that era, a dead Luke Perry, a sick Dougherty... As to ST, I don't mean to snark that hard, I've def seen both series a lot more than some of them have, so it's hard not to think "yes, she IS the creator's wife. She also voices most of the federation computers. It's a nice voice. Troi's mom, too."

Cray Z

My sibling - who got me to listen to WHM - said it, and I haven't listened to Melrose9. It'll make me feel old and sad. Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist type. And that cheat code was in my other jacket, which I just took to the cleaners, so...

Chris Vincenti

Yep I have been waiting for this one for a while. Montgomery really expresses his feelings here for the fairer sex.

Ray

On your most recent episode, Leprechaun, Andrew posited that there might be a Star Trek episode with an Irish planet. That's kind of what this episode is.

Droopy balls is Ra's al ghul!
