On this month's journey into The Nexus—our 30th trip into the magic Trek ribbon—the gang is chatting about two very different episodes of the beloved franchise. Over on TOS, it's "The Alternative Factor," which originally aired March 30th, 1967. In this episode, we're shown such enticing things like cheap psychedelic imagery, a horrendous deteriorating mustache, and a man who falls off not one, but two cliffs!

Then over on TNG, it's "Where Silence Has Lease," which originally aired November 26th, 1988. On this classic episode, we're shown a giant blank spot in space that the Enterprise gets stuck spinning its tires in, Dr. Pulaski doing a stupid dance move on the bridge, and Picard casually getting ready to go to hell tonight!

PLUS: Jean-Luc Picard loves Ghostbusters!

The Nexus is a We Hate Movies podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek series at the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support this weird thing!

The Commodore

Oh christ I was worried listener request month was a Dr Pulaski ep of TNG.

Dr. Murderfish

My goodness. I must be some kind of weird freak. I love Pulaski and prefer her to Crusher.

Josan

It's undeniable that she has zero sinergy with the rest of the crew and the bullying on Data, just stop :(

Smaug

The Patrick Stewart impressions make me pine for a ST show wherein Picard is just a total dickish tyrant running a pleasure ship. He's druggin and fuckin and crushin robot egos until they catch up with him

Christopher French

I'd rather have the Holo doctor from Voyager over Pulaski. She was just not gelling at all with the crew.

Math Gannon

I listened to this whole episode before I realised you were not talking about Watto?!?
