Hey gang! Hope you had a fantastic weekend full of relaxation, rest, and minimal annoyances. We here at the WHM studio are waist-deep in season 15 production and things are getting pretty wild. In a few days we start production on this year's Halloween Spooktacular, and it's an idea that's just so stupid, we can't wait to share it with y'all! But before that happens, we still have a couple weeks of September shows (including this week!), so let's see what's going on in the WHMu:

First up tomorrow on We Hate Movies, we're talking about the directorial effort that gets talked about least when discussing the films of John Hughes, that's right , the 1985 teen sex comedy, Weird Science! On its face, this premise doesn't hold up in the clear light of 2024, but that said, there's still a ton to talk about, and even some really fun stuff to be had here. Plus, it's one of Bill Paxton's greatest walk-off home-run performances. You can hear the entire thing here on Patreon AD-FREE at the $8 level & up!

Then on Thursday, be sure to stay up to date on all our Star Wars content as we present the latest entry in the Gleep Glossary! That's right, we're back to talk about another lonely, forgotten figure in the Star Wars Universe, Darth Bane! Great name, great look, and yes, before you even ask, Tom Hardy impressions abound! You can hear the whole wild conversation here at the $8 level & up!

And that'll about do it for this week's shows! Oh, but if you missed the announcement last week, our next worldwide digital event is happening on Wednesday, October 23rd, and we're talking about Wes Craven's final film, Scream 4! And a new development for our digital shows, all Patreon subscribers at the $8 level & up now get to add on the exclusive After Party Q&A for free! That's right, you can watch us answers questions while getting intoxicated totally gratis! Head over to the ticketing portal now to secure them tix, we love Wes Craven and we love the Scream franchise, so this is gonna be a downright out-of-this-world good time. And btw, peep the new incredible design by our bud, Felipe Sobreiro, now available in the official WHM merch store!

That'll do it for this week, gang! We hope you all are having a great start to your week and we hope you all enjoy the shows dropping over the next few days! As always, thanks so much for being the totally killer Patreon subscribers you are!

Take it easy,
Andrew, Chris, Eric & Steve

the weird science tv show was a USA staple for me growing up

Voror

I don't think I've seen the film in over 15 years so this will be a fun trip down memory lane. I remember the old TV show more in some respects.

Sarah Montgomery

I just watched Weird Science last night, first time. I love how quickly the movie gets into the premise and how few $#!+s it gives how little sense it makes. I don't think I've seen a movie that so confidently, shamelessly, doesn't care how stupid it is since the second Bill & Ted. But that Anthony Michael Hall "Jive talking" bit....WOW, that just kept going.

Jake Welsh

Vernon Wells' intensity in Weird Science (and Mad Max 2, Inner Space...) scared the shit out of me as a kid!

John Locke

To me Weird Science isn't an 80's sex comedy because it has no boobs. It's constant blue balls.

John Locke

Can't wait for Darth Bane. Really interesting character. The Bane Trilogy is a great read.

Ed Harris

Saw Weird Science a ton of times when I was a kid. Looking forward to the episode.

Leesha Olivier

Weird Science was one of those 'Cable Movies' that was on all the time. I have probably seen it 25 times, but not in like 40 years! It will be fun to revisit, and probably cringy as he'll, too!
