Hey gang, we're not on the road this week, so I'm back on my box office bullshit!

Despite having a so-so relationship with David Leitch's directorial efforts over the years— Atomic Blonde (didn't see), Deadpool 2 (fine), F&F: Hobbs & Shaw (terrible), Bullet Train (not good)— I'm actually pretty excited for this weekend's The Fall Guy!

I'm a fan of both Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, and frankly, I think this looks hilarious and charming. Plus, the action bits we've all seen 40 times in the trailer by now looks awesome. And it appears the forecasting around this one is also pretty excited.

Going into this weekend (with early Thursday shows as well), The Fall Guy is looking to land somewhere between $30M-$40M. Considering the film appears to delightfully blend action, comedy and romance, we've got a real four-quadrant picture on our hands here, so that opening window seems totally plausible.

But as we were reminded over the last few weeks, no movie is immune from under-(or over)-performing, so let's roll the dice! Vote below where you think The Fall Guy is gonna crash land!

We'll break it all down on Monday's On-Screen Live, starting at noon/eastern on our YouTube and Twitch channels!

Have a great weekend, y'all, watch a bunch of fun stuff! - Andrew

I'm going tonight and it's pretty full, so that's enough scientific proof for me to assume it'll do well. Anyone else going to a Phantom Menace 25th anniv screening for Star Wars Day? Truly cannot believe I am this old smh

Dude Face

I will be! Been a great couple weeks. First the Mummy, now Episode 1. I'm 10 all over again lol

I almost went to a 45th anniv(!!!!!) showing of Alien this past week, but opted for an early screening of Poolman instead. Terrible decision, judging myself hard.

I've been wrong on these most of the time...but I'm going with 30m or less. I saw it at the early screening on Wed and my amc theater was practically empty. I looked today and most of the screenings are empty too. It's a fun film but I don't think it'll do what the studios hope. Advertising wise all I really saw were the trailers in front of Universal films. I didn't really feel or see the hype for it overall.

JK

It looks like a fun movie starring two of the most attractive people alive, I hope it does well

Nuña Bisness

Not gonna lie, the trailer underwhelmed me and I don’t think it’s gonna do all that well.

Paul

Can’t wait for your next discussion of “X-Men ‘97.”

Ig Helmer

while the movie seems fun and exciting to me, im worried people dont want to see a romance, and it will sadly flop

Justin Genova

Honestly, with how much this movie has been advertised (for what seems like three years now) it’ll be pretty embarrassing if it’s less than $40 mil. With not much out right now though, I can see it getting to 40 no problem.

I am kind of rooting for it. It's not going to be a classic in my home but I saw it last night and enjoyed it a lot. However, it was an 8:00pm IMAX screening with maybe only a dozen people spread out through the several hundred seats so I'm sadly anticipating it to underperform. But I'm hopeful that it doesn't.

Dude Face

I did Alien and Mummy as a double feature. Twas a great day lol

Ajax

I really liked the action in Atomic Blonde! Can't remember the plot at all.

Have a feeling it'll blow past $40 million because of Gosling alone. The Oscar and SNL appearances have been big publicity gets for this film.

Frank Grimes

looks like it might end up doing 28M this weekend
