“I thought this aired on the Bone Network” - Eric

On this month’s Animation Damnation, we’re finally talking about the cartoon our Skeleton League brothers and sisters must’ve loved, Skeleton Warriors! We’re covering the first, mind-boggling episode, “Flesh and Bone.” First airing on a Saturday morning back on September 17, 1994, this episode features a magic group of royal siblings "cutely" named Justin, Joshua and Jennifer; a number of battles involving knock-off lightsabers; and an army of evil skeleton pirate-type villains who are also the show’s namesake! Get ready to hear all about this outrageous He-Man knock-off that we still can’t believe is real!

A magically undead skellington is a Lich, and count me in! Thx guys. You apes wanna live forever !?

Albert C

It totally looks like the Cheers font in the titles.

Andrew Dean

Neal Adams (RIPD) credited as conceptual designer 🤟

Haven't listened yet but I hope the skelon league makes an appearance

Every dollar I've spent as a patreon member has led to this episode. 1000000% worth it

G Goldhar

My entire mother's side of the family is J names. My dad wasn't having any of it and I wound up a Geoff, which is an entirely different kind of curse

TayterTot

I'm good friends with a set of twins named Josh and Justin, so this episode has been extra fun to listen to.

Eren Keskin

What a Humerus episode

Mark Ibarra

Nice work, bone daddies.

RJ Cunningham

Oh shit! gotta go back and check out that Cheers font. Makes one wonder how the cast of Cheers would fair after obtaining the Lightstar Crystal. Feel like Cliff would be the unfortunate one to get Grimskull’d

CharlesGrodin'sToupee

Skeleton Warriors is just He-Man but "OOPS! All Skeletors" Edition.

John Edwards

This wasn't on the Bone Network, but I do remember catching it on Spine TV in the afternoons.

Lar

I’m surprised y’all didn’t make a skeleton league joke but the skeleton laughs at the end were pretty league-esque so it’s cool. Maybe y’all can cover this on too old when you’re done with X-men, haha.

Todd B

Not gonna lie, as the kids' names were read off, my first thought was "Ah shit, more Duggars!"

Matthew Kennedy

As Theme Songs go, "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" is also 100% about the villains.

About Shriek from wikipedia: "In the days prior to becoming a living Skeleton, Shriek was POWERFULLY attracted to Prince Justin. After she became a Skeleton Warrior her crush persists, albeit unreciprocated." Skeletons can be horny!

Smaug

"Power outages have been reported all over Luminicity, there is imminent danger of EXPLODING OUTDOOR TELEVISIONS!" Personal highlight was the crystal that pulls apart like an order of Domino's Cheesy Bread

What level is the xmen 97 reviews on? I can’t see it in any of the tiers

wehatemovies

It is top tier, and the releases are usually two episodes together because of our tour schedule.

Patrick D Wheaton

I had the Aracula action figure. Obviously he was the leader of all my other toys, what on account of him being a six-armed giant skeleton.

Philip Ehlke

I’m with Eric, this show slaps (I might have to dig for a better rip lol). I’d nominate it for next up on Too Old for This 💩

Andrew McCoy

Pretty sure my buddy's brother had a Grimskulll action figure growing up, and we used to make quicksand in their sandbox and have the skeleton rise up from it to attack the Power Rangers...

Mark D Myers

Would you believe that none of the female characters got figures in the toy line?
