Hey Flufferschnoots, I made a video changing my guitar’s strings and it’s my longest most ambitious video ever. Like, ever-ever.

I keep wanting to call this my magnum opus but I've felt this way about the past few videos. I thought my last rp was my best & most polished one ever, ha! But this video really does standout in a lot of ways.

I think this one is more about the visuals than the audio. The guitar is absolutely beautiful and I think I had the set very nicely arranged. The red spots on my knuckles are annoying but my skin does that sometimes.

Some of the sounds can be pretty harsh, especially the string-pulling sounds. I think I might add chapters to this video so people can more easily find sounds because this one is pretty out-there.

I’m unsure of how to solve the audio bias for videos like this. I’ve tried recording with the Tascam + my studio mics it causes an unavoidable echo. I swapped the audio channels but forgot I needed to do that while I was recording so I got the channels backwards.

I don’t change my strings all that often so it’s always an experience. I can’t say I was expecting the tuning machine to seize up though. I almost didn’t film that whole sequence but I’m glad I did. Is it weird that I enjoyed watching myself fix it?

I’ve been pondering a lot about music & asmr. This video opened my mind up to a lot of ideas for new sounds and ways to incorporate musical elements to my asmr.

Hope you enjoyed this one. It’s very much a video for me and a personal one at that. 💙💜

[ASMR] Changing my Guitar strings | Soft Spoken, Guitar Strings, Washing & Waxing, and Tapping

In this video I change my guitar's strings. I also discover one of the tuning machines is seized so I fix that too. At the end, I wax & tap on the guitar and it sounds great. I may have gone a little overboard with this one. I don't usually reverse the stereo channels but it sounded strange when the tapping was coming from the right side, but you can clearly see the mic on the left. My video editor appears to have left digital artifacts in the audio that sound a bit like vinyl record pops. This video is so experimental I figure why not leave em in there.
