Hey Flufferschnoots! I'm finally getting around to showing the pics from my recent kayaking trip. It was a nice getaway and I got to enjoy the outdoors with my camera. I brought my Sony a6000  to take the shots attached to this post!

I'm calling this one post Field Research because I've realized that I need an internal catalogue of common sounds to use for my soundscape. I live in a pretty vibrant area, so why not build that from the sounds I have available?

So, I went on this trip thinking of how I'd be able to use these sounds or visuals in a role-play or something like that. I thought that maaaaybe I'd be able to use a photo I took while exploring as the scene for a video but nah, the art and the real background clash and make it feel odd.

The audio was pretty good though. I got enough clips to make into a small vlog and you guys can tell me what you think of the sounds in it.

I haven't used it to just take photographs like this in a long time so I didn't have the Sony dialed in correctly! As a result, many of the shots came out very blurry. It's so unfortunate but at least I won't make that mistake again.

The river itself was... Ehh. It's a small/short river that starts at the convergence of several streams and flows into the mighty & massive Columbia River. The tidal influence from the Ocean causes the water to flow backwards.

I might come back to this river to explore the mouth where it connects to the Columbia, but otherwise it's a pretty boring river to paddle on. I look forward to the next time I go adventuring!

I would love to do some trips on the water but I am not a fan of small boats. It looks a like a very relaxing experience out there.

Does it need to be like a ship or would a raft do? I was thinking I might switch to a motorized raft because kayaking is too slow haha
