Still working at it! (Patreon)

I'm still working on the history video I talked about in the previous post. Ugh.

The problem remains the footage. The voice-over is admittedly not my best work but it'll do. I just need the footage to go along with what I'm talking about.

I was thinking about what I like in these sorts of videos and, I do like the desktop or "hands-on" portion of the videos. But I feel like my past videos sucked in that regard. Why?

Well, I think I figured it out. For me, anyway; I hope others agree. Compare my old way of capturing the desktop:

I'm basically running a lower resolution in the VM and upscaling it with OBS. It's a little tricky but I think it works really well since most of the screen-space is wasted at 1080p and I usually have to zoom into the content, which is lame imo.

I'm also experimenting with image effects like highlighting the important text on a web page.

I hope to get this darn video done by the end of the weekend but we'll see!
