This chapter ended up being slightly longer than usual because I didn't want to end it in the middle of a fight. And I think it's the most important chapter in the entire series.

Let me know what you think. Endings are tough, and I've been planning out this one for years, but I know some readers will not like how I do endings. Be it a statement of preference or a criticism (or a compliment 😄), hit me.

Next chapter will be slightly shorter than usual to compensate for the extra length.

Enjoyed it! ***Spoilers below*** The final conversation between Jack and the Reaper was well thought of and made sense in these circumstances. The Elane shtick too. Jacob's end made me sad, he is a favorite character of mine. Can't wait to see who the "Hello?" is! (have suspicions, but will be patiently waiting)

My prediction is that the voice is Julius. If not Julius than the curse. I had previous predictions that aged to be incorrect. I had thought that there would be an epic moment between the ripper and Jack like there was but it would turn out that the ripper was Jack all along. I had wrote this theory in my notes on May 10th. I had thought this throughout the series but I thought it was a done deal when you mentioned fight club when Jack tried to kill himself. I thought it was foreshadowing. My theory— “The Ripper isn’t a separate entity but a dark part of jack he’s mentally separated with. The strix curse isn’t alive, it’s memories and all but Jacks refusal to accept or even fathom he’d do those things is what makes him create a separate entity in his head. At the time the curse was released, Julius had just died, hunters wanted to kill everything and everyone he loved, his sister was murdered, his mother was dying in a hospital bed. Everything he had pre vampire and post was obliterated. Even though he may have had Antoinette, he’s young and probably wasn’t even thinking of her at that moment. At this moment even without the curse unlocked, Jack had the all the rage, disregard for life, and the potential, emotionally, to be the ripper. All he needed was the curse. He snaps out of it when he sees his mother and disassociates. His dialogue in the hospital when the curse was unleashed was very Jack like. He had the love for “Annie” still. The ripper even said to him the coming weeks pre necklace that he was him. I think that Jack’s need and want to fix every wrongdoing is what drove the separation. He wanted so badly to be able to fix things but couldn’t because he lacked the power. The power he claims to not want but subconsciously I believe he does. The only way for him to fix things in the unforgiving fierce world of the undead is to use the curses power but the good side of jack could never do those things and still look himself in the mirror. In the beginning Jack embraced the curse a bit and when he did- he never hurt the ones he loved and even acknowledged them as loved ones. The divide grew deeper when Jack tried to fight it then used the necklace. This drove his alter ego into a separation as well. His alter ego saw the ones he loved as the reason he couldn’t be himself and that’s when he started to lash out at people like Clara etc etc. I wouldn’t be mad if this story ended without a happy ending, with everyone dead because I don’t see a happily ever after in this. This was a very sloppy summarization of my plot twist theory and i don’t want to go more in depth and cite certain instances but I see this as a plausible one. Very Fight Club / Shutter Island vibes. Maybe Jacob/BB trying to take away the curse will break the walls between ripper and jack 🤷 “ I thought I had it figured out haha! I always keep thoughts, theories and analysis of your chapters in my notes. I’m very into literary devices and analyzing literature— especially when it’s as good as your work. I had another theory awhile back that involved— “Black Blood using, tricking, and betraying Jacob somehow leading to him siding with the team or any number of things. “ So far my major storyline predictions have been incorrect and I love it! Can’t wait to see what comes next.
