Such a beautiful way to end the series, and I have to say, I'm so cried out 😅 BoB has been such an incredible, emotionally draining (in the best way) experience, and I'm so grateful I got to share it with you! Thank you for recommending the documentary!

We Stand Alone Together: BoB Documentary Full Length Reaction

I loved watching all the reactions. As a Dutchman living a 5 minute bikeride from one of the Bridges from operation Market Garden, seeing many bunkers and monuments every day on my way to work, this is a very special series to me. These men are part of the reason why I live in a free country today. I watch this series every year at least once. These where very special men and they should never be forgotten. So reactions like yours and others are important to keep the story alive in new generations, since most of them would never think of watching a show from the early 2000s.

I know that you finished reacting to Band of Brothers with this official documentary. But since you mentioned that you whished there was more in behind the scenes, and that you wanted to know how they worked with the real veterans to make this series as accurate as possible. Here is a link to The Making Of, and some interviews with the actors on how the experience was for them, including talking about working with the veterans they portrayed to get the details right. THE MAKING OF Band Of Brothers (Behind The Scenes) https://youtu.be/BtzSgr_ylBU American Veteran Center interview with Actor James Madio, on how playing Frank Perconte changed his life. And why the role changed his life. Including how they where surprised with the concentration camp recordings to get the most genuine reactions. https://youtu.be/4Zq2WMxOhz0 American Veteran Center interview with Actor Ross McCall, on how playing Joseph Liebgott, and how playing in Band of Brothers changed his life forever. https://youtu.be/GtbWUGeQR9o American Veteran Center interview with Actor Michael Cudlitz on playing Bull Randleman, and how the easy company vets told him "YOU GUYS NAILED IT" https://youtu.be/cfsUZKWcVww Also, this is how the forest around BASTOGNE looks today, including the foxholes used by Easy Company, that are being maintained to this day. https://youtu.be/KA6ZuOzQf08

Here's another very interesting video you can watch, Jacqui. A roundtable discussion by most of the cast of Band of Brothers, 20 years later. They go through their own personal experiences being part of this unique show. And, just like the vets' yearly reunion was organized by Guarnere, it's the actor playing him, Frank John Hughes, who organizes the yearly cast member reunions. https://youtu.be/76x42xBKenE?si=_ENo73CvIxIM1Jp8 You get some very interesting insight of some behind-the-scene things.

So that man, Mellet, who is briefly mentioned by Don King, quoting him saying "when I get hit, I'll really get hit.." was one of those killed at the end of episode 7, by the sniper hidden on the upper floor of a building, the one that Shifty killed. Shifty was a sweet man, who got along very well with everyone. With one exception. For some reason, he could -not- stand Mellet. There was one night during Bastogne where Shifty had a dream while asleep. He was dreaming that he was killing Mellet, and the dream was so vivid and felt so real, that when he woke up, he immediately went around to try and find Mellet, wondering if he might actually have killed him while half-asleep. After he found Mellet well and alive, Shifty said it was the only time he was ever glad to see the man.
